Curt Q20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with Slider Instalaltion - 2018 Ford F-350 Super Duty- Video
Today on our 2018 Ford F three 50 Super Duty, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt Q series line of fifth wheel trailer hitches with slider for the Ford Towing Prep package. More and more nowadays we're seeing trucks that have shorter than eight foot beds on those which comes in a problem when we go to towing the fifth wheel, 'cause we want our hitch to be on the forward side of our rear axle, but that ends up putting our trailer extremely close to our cab. That's where our slider's gonna help out. When it comes time to make those tight turns, we can come to this vertical handle here on this side, we'll pull it out, rotate it back, and that'll allow the hitch to slide back a full 12 inches giving us more clearance to go around the turn. And we'll lock into position so we can make that turn without fear of hitting our truck. And then whenever we need to go in a straight line again and we're ready to tow, simply pull that handle out again, rotate it again and our hitch will slide back and lock into the towing position. more

How's it going, Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2019 Ford F350 Super Duty, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt Q20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with slider assembly, and this is gonna work with that Ford factory prep package. A lot of newer trucks nowadays are coming with shorter and shorter bed lengths and that can cause some issues with your stationary style 5th wheels and that's due to clearance. So with that shorter bed, the front of your 5th wheel trailer is gonna be closer to the cab of the truck. So in particular, for example, whenever you go to turn, since we're a little bit closer, you can have some issues with your trailer actually contacting the bed of your truck or the cab and damage it. So to alleviate that problem, we're actually going to be able to slide the 5th wheel closer to the back of the truck and provide us with that clearance we need. more

Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the B&W Companion 5th wheel hitch with slider base and seeing how it fits on our 2020 RAM 3500. Now, a couple things to note with this that we are using this with a 6 1/2 foot bed. With those shorter bed lengths, I always recommend a slider base. If you've got an eight foot bed, then you probably don't need the slider and you can check out just the regular Companion 5th wheel. And in addition to that, we are using this in conjunction with the factory prep package. more

Hi, there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Demco Recon above-bed rail mount side plates. Now, these side plates are going to attach to your Demco Recon 21,000 pound manual slide fifth wheel trailer hitch and these are going to allow you to install your slider onto your above-bed rails. These are going to fit with the universal-style rails, so just about every manufacturer out there including Demco, really any of 'em that use the industry standard, which is just about all of them, these will fit right down into. So you'll move this lever into the unlock position, set it down on your rails, and you'll be able to move it back to the lock position. Put your pin and flip through, like so. more

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Demco Recon Manual Slide fifth wheel trailer hitch. This is a brick wheel hitch that will mount in your short bed, GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 3500. So you can tow your fifth wheel trailer. This does have the manual slide on it, so it is going to make sure that your short bed truck can pull your fifth wheel trailer and still make those tight turns when you need to, by moving your hitch back up to 14 inches. So basically when you find yourself in a situation where you need to make one of those slow, tight turns, you'll get out, you'll move the slide into the slide position here and that will allow you to very easily slide that back up to 14 inches so that you have that greater clearance. more

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Demco Recon manual slide 5th wheel trailer hitch. So this is a 5th wheel hitch that's gonna mount in your short bed F-250 or F-350 so you can tow your 5th wheel trailer. This hitch is going to have the manual slide feature and so especially for your short bed trucks where you have a little bit of clearance issues and when you're trying to make those tight turns, and this is going to allow you to get out of your truck, (lever clicks) move that lever into the slide position, and then the hitch can slide towards your tailgate up to 14 inches to provide that clearance that you need for your short bed pickup truck to make those slow speed turns safely. Then when you're straightened out, get everything lined up again and simply move that back (lever clicks) to the locked position there over top of your axle, so it's gonna have the weight distributed correctly for your regular speeds. So this is going to help prevent your trailer from making contact with your pickup during your sharp slow speed turns. more

This does have the manual slide that will allow you to, when you are coming into a a tight situation where you're needing more clearance for your trailer, you can very simply get out of your truck, pull this into the slide position, and then that's going to allow this to slide up to 14 inches towards your tailgate, again, providing that additional clearance that you need so that you're not making contact between your trailer and your cab. And then once you get everything straightened back out, get back out, slide that back into the lock position so that the weight is distributed over your axle for your normal travel speeds. So this is designed for your six and a half foot truck beds. more

So if your RAM has the factory prep package for towing, then this is the kit for you. It's gonna utilize the A20 5th wheel hitch, the R20 slider base, and that adapter piece down at the bottom to attach that whole slider hitch system to those factory pucks. So if you don't have that factory prep package this isn't the kit for you. You can get that with just the slider base in the 5th wheel hitch and forget about that adapter piece. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at B&W's the Patriot 18K Fifth Wheel on a 2013 Ford F-250. Now, today we have our fifth wheel in a 6 1/2' bed and that's why this is a great option. B&W makes some awesome fifth wheel hitches. They're some of my personal favorites. The quality's fantastic, but this one in particular, if your weight capacity is right at 18,000 or less, is gonna be a great option because, when you need to maneuver, you need a little bit more clearance so you don't hit your cab corners, you can just simply pull the latch, slide this back, it'll lock into place and now you can maneuver without having to worry about damaging your cab. We have our Patriot mounted into Demco's Premier Series rail kit. more

Pretty cool these late model trucks now, you know you can get 'em factory equipped with them prep packages and it makes, you know putting in a fifth wheel, or a gooseneck style hitch super convenient. You know, you essentially just drop this right in, lock it down, and that's really all there is to it. In our case, you know, this is a sliding type hitch, and that's because our truck is a short bed. Alright If you have a long bed, you can get away with using a fixed type hitch. more

Now, as time has progressed, trucks have now started coming with an OEM prep package. And what that means, you might have heard of it as the puck system. That means you have drop-in spots where arms can attach for a fifth wheel and that makes it nice and easy. You don't have to install anything, because from the factory it's ready to be able to drop a fifth wheel in place. Now for something like this with a six foot bed, you are gonna wanna look at something with a sliding base and that's where the companion, I think is one of the best that you can get on the market. more

Curt A25 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with S25 Slider Review - 2020 Ram 2500- Video
Hello, neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at the Curt A25 fifth wheel hitch on an S25 slider with the OEM prep package. So, we have a standard rail system that works with that on a 2020 Ram 2500. Now, this system is gonna be a great configuration for those of you with a six foot bed and the OEM puck package on your Ram, and reason being is that's gonna allow you to slide as you need to make sharper turns and it's gonna just to head back, and that way you can avoid hitting your cab corners when you have to make those sharp turns. Now, this system, having the OEM puck systems, means that the rail, means that it's gonna bolt up to it and you're gonna get everything be able to drop in an ISR standard configuration, meaning that you can really drop pretty much any fifth wheel in and they do have ones that are already set up for the OEM prep package that drop in. The downside with that is unless you're planning on keeping your truck forever, that fifth wheel is gonna have to stay with that whereas with this system, you can swap out to a different fifth wheel or if you get a different truck, you can take this, get different rails, if it's a Ford or a Chevy, and be able to adapt it and still be able to use your fifth wheel. more

Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Review - 2017 Ford F-150- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch on a 2017 Ford F-150. And when getting a 5th wheel hitch on a truck, you do wanna take into account the bed length. And this one being a relatively short bed at 5-1/2' means that you're gonna need something that's going to be able to slide back to make those turns. That way you're not making damage on your cab corners. And this one's a little bit different than some of the others on the market and probably the best fit for this because this auto slides. So as your pin box goes into these channels, when you turn, it'll actually rotate and automatically slide this back, giving you that clearance when you make your turns without having to go out and pull a lever and allow it to slide, it's gonna do it itself. more

Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with S20 Slider Review - 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500- Video
Hey guys, this is Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2023 Chevy Silverado 2,500 and we're gonna be taking a look at, I'm gonna go over a few details of the Curt S20 sliding base combined with the Curt A20 fifth wheel hitch. Now when we go over all these features of this combo there is also a Curt A16 head that is available that fits just like it does in here. Everything on the head itself is going to be the same except the weight capacity is gonna be a little bit lighter. This head is gonna have a 20,000 pound capacity and the A16 is going to have a 16,000 pound capacity. And one of the biggest downfalls of hauling a fifth wheel trailer in a regular bed truck, this is a six foot eight bed truck and one of the downfalls is that you don't have enough room to turn because the nose of your camper will make contact with the cab of your truck. more

Today we have a 2023 Chevy Silverado 2,500 and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you some of the features of this BMW Patriot fifth wheel sliding hitch. Now right off the bat, what's gonna make this hitch fit perfectly in this truck is the fact that our truck is a six and three quarter foot bed. So, if you have a standard fifth wheel, those are typically gonna be best used in an eight foot bed, cuz you'll have more than enough cab clearance. That foot and a quarter extra that you get from an eight foot bed really helps to get you some cab clearance. Well, essentially that's what we're doing with this sliding hitch. more

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a look at these Reese quick install custom outboard brackets for fifth wheel trailer hitches. These custom outboard brackets are going to dramatically reduce the amount of drilling and time that is required to install your fifth wheel trailer hitch. And these are custom fit brackets that are designed to fit your 1999 to 2010 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty and then your 2008 to 2010 Ford F-450. Now these brackets are going to mount beneath your truck bed to give you the attachment points that you need for your fifth wheel rails using existing holes in your truck's frame, minimizing insulation time helping minimize drilling and measuring and it cuts down that installation time by more than half compared with universal bracket systems. The biggest difference with outboard brackets is that they are designed to install outside your truck's frame so the result is a much simpler installation process where most underbed components can be easily avoided because you're working outside of your frame rails and you also have easier access with your tools and more room to work making the whole process less of a pain. more

Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on 2023 GMC Sierra 2,500, we're going to be checking out the B&W Companion Sliding Fifth Wheel Hitch. So right away the Companion, this is going to be designed to work with the B&W Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitches. And there's a couple of reasons that I can think of why you'd want to use the Companion over the standard type fifth wheel head that uses the traditional type rails. And one of them is that you have a couple of different types of trailers. So if you have a gooseneck and a fifth wheel, having the gooseneck hitch allow you to pull that trailer and then by picking up the Companion, it'll let you drop this fifth wheel right into that gooseneck hitch and hook up to your fifth wheel trailer. more

It's the Curt OEM 5th Wheel Adapter Rails. The nice part about this kit is that it's gonna fit directly into your puck system of many different brands but especially the '23 GMC 3500. All you have to do is lift it up, set it over top of your puck system and drop it in place. To lock it down, you simply flip these rails or these handles, insert your pin, get these three holes lined up, and then latch your pin. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we've got a 2018 Ford F-150 with the five-and-a-half-foot bed, and we're gonna be showing you the Demco Autoslide 13,000 pound 5th Wheel Hitch. This is gonna be one of the best options for a 5th wheel hitch that you can pair with a short-bed truck that is a five and a half or a six-foot bed truck. The way that this hitch works is that you're going to lock your kingpin into the head, and then the kingpin will no longer rotate inside here. It's going to take this, these sides and rotate this whole head, and the 5th wheel will back itself up as you're turning. So if you go to back into a campsite and you're turning, this is going to turn, and as it turns, it'll go back, and it'll give you 22 and a half inches of travel. more
