This is what you're going to get in your kit. This is the wiring that's going to be connected under your dash to the factory wiring. This is the four-pole that's going to be coming out of the back of your vehicle. This is your modular box. This is going to keep any backfeed from your trailer if there's a wiring issue from coming back into your factory wiring in your vehicle.This is what our wiring looks like when it's installed. more

Best 2013 Toyota Highlander Trailer Wiring Options

Today we're going to be taking a look at the best wiring options for your 2013 Toyota Highlander. First we've got our CURT customer vehicle wiring harness, part number C56217. Then we've got our Tekonsha T1 vehicle wiring harness, part number 118449. Lastly we've got our CURT customer vehicle wiring harness, part number 56042. The first obvious difference that we're going to see here is that with this wiring harness over here this CURT does not have as much as the others. That's because if you have a Highlander that already has the tow package with the conveter mounted underneath the dash, this is all that you're going to need. But, if you don't, then one of these other two kits will be the right fit for you. The first difference that we're going to look at between the CURT and the Tekonsha wiring harnesses is the amperage rating on each circuit. more

Today on our 2013 Toyota Highlander, we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for the factory tow package. This offers the 4-pole flat trailer connector, the part number is 56042. This is what our wiring kit is going to look like when we pull it out of the package. This is a very straightforward, very easy installation for you to complete at home. We have our 4-pole connector, this is going to plug right into our factory connector located here in the rear of the vehicle. That's just going to send our signal out to give us either trailer or cargo carrier lights. We've got our right, brake and turn and our left, brake and turn, our running lights there and our ground. more

Today on our 2013 Toyota Highlander, we'll be installing the Curt T connector vehicle wiring harness with 4 pull flat trailer connector, part number C56217. Now, we're here on the driver's side, up underneath where the pedals are. You'll notice this white plug right here. Right here is what we'll be tying in with. We tie in this white plug in here, comes off of the converter box and go ahead and pull our ground wire out of that bundle. We're going to go ahead and make our connection here. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2013 Toyota Highlander 118449

Today on our 2013 Toyota Highlander we'll be installing the Tow Ready T1 vehicle wiring harness with four pole flange connector, part number 118449. To begin our install we're going to start in the drivers side kick panel located underneath the dash board. Attached to the manufacturers wiring harness will be a white connector that will match the white connector for our Tow Ready harness and converter box. Now that we've located the connector we'll need to remove the threshold and drivers side kick panel so we can store the converter box and wiring. To remove the threshold we'll use a flat blade screwdriver or interior trim panel tool to gentle pry the panel up and release the fasteners underneath. Next we'll go ahead and repeat the same process with our kick panel only we have one plastic cap nut to remove also. more
