Malone Crossbar Rack Pads Review- Video

These are 18 inches wide, so perfectly suited for surf boards, that are going to wrap around your crossbars and you can see they give us a lot of padding here. Thule Surfboard Tailgate Pad Review- Video

Basically it's going to give us an 18" wide pad that we can connect to our tailgate. And that gives us a really nice soft area that we can strap our surfboard down to, and really eliminate a lot of that side to side movement that we typically get with them just laying in the back of the vehicle.The board holder is going to use two straps. Review of Curt Watersport Carriers - Kayak - Paddle Board - C18320- Video
Today we're going to take a look at the Curt J-Style Universal Mount Folding Kayak Carrier with the tie-downs. Now this is an aluminum folding kayak rack that lets you safely transport one kayak on your vehicle's roof. This part will include everything I laid out here on the table: the two kayak holders, the two tie-down straps and a nice large all-weather storage bag to put everything in.Now, these are lightweight, rustproof, aluminum tubing construction. They have a nice black powder coat finish to them and if you notice they have the foam padding at the bottom on the bars right here. And even the very bottom pad is a rubber material so you don't do any damage to your kayak, keeps it from scuffing or scratching it.The rotating arms, they will pivot to fit virtually any size kayak or paddleboard. They have these notch pivot points right here that allow for precise positioning and locking of these arms. more

etrailer Watersport Carriers Review - 2009 Dodge Ram Pickup- Video
Today, we're doing a test fit on the etrailer kayak carrier. As far as our test vehicle today, this is a 2009 Ram 1500. This is a folding, adjustable kayak carrier, offers 150 pound weight capacity. When folded, it only adds 4-5/8 of an inch to the top of your crossbar. It's going to work with just about all varieties of crossbar out there, whether that's the square, the round, the arrow, the elliptical, or most of your factory systems.I think this kayak carrier solves a lot of problems, and that's kind of why we've designed it the way we did. We get our hands on all the different models from all the different manufacturers, and it really allows us to perfect ours. more

Lockrack Adjustable Stand-Up Paddle Board Carrier Review 339-LRSSUPSETX- Video
Jake: Hi guys it's Jake here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install the Lockrack Single Standup Paddleboard Rack. The main thing that's gonna set this paddleboard carrier apart from others is that you're not gonna have to tie down your paddleboard because it's gonna grip around the sides for those shorter trips and at lower speeds. Now if you get on the highway, I would recommend tying down your paddleboard front and rear just so that you can ensure that your paddleboard is safe when you get to your destination.Other paddleboard carriers you're gonna have to tie off the front and the back of the paddleboard either to your hood or to your bumper in order to ensure that it's gonna stay still. I will add, if you're going at higher speeds Lockrack does recommend tying down the front and rear just for an extra safety precaution.Now what's gonna make this paddleboard carrier a little bit sturdier than others when it comes to clamping down onto your factory or after market roof rack is that it's gonna use four clamps rather than just two like a normal rack would. It's gonna clamp down tight in those four places which is gonna give it that nice solid hold when going over bumps, potholes, or anything like that. more

Review of Malone Watersport Carriers - Kayak,Canoe - MPG519-S- Video
Today we're going to take a look at the Malone Wide Tracks Large Kayak and Canoe Cart.This is an easy way to transport your watercraft or your boat from your vehicle down to the water's edge, especially if you're just traveling by yourself and you don't have somebody else to help you hoist that boat down to the water, you can just load up your kayak or canoe, have all your stuff inside and then just roll this with your kayak or canoe attached down to the water. Makes it a lot easier. Comes with some straps to secure that boat to the frame so you don't have to worry about it flipping or sliding off.Has a little divot in the middle to make that easy, and then this is equipped with the balloon style wheels. These are really great for any time you're going over some kind of softer terrain, mud, sand, gravel, things like that. Has a low pressure so you can see it's got some give there that helps to just give it a little bit more weight disbursement over those softer materials, and also helps to grip onto those surfaces.So, it would work out really well if you're going down to the beach or maybe going down to the river's edge and you know it's going to be kind of silty or sandy there, makes it really easy. I like it.This has a nice aluminum frame. more

Malone FS Bike SUP and Kayak Storage Rack Review- Video
Colin: Hey everyone, I'm Colin here at etrailer.com, and today we're gonna take a look at Malone's Free-Standing Bike, Paddleboard, and Kayak Storage Rack. This rack just makes it nice and easy to declutter your garage, you're gonna be able to get all that stuff off the floor and off the walls from leaning up against it, just get it on a nice, vertical rack so it's out of the way and not taking up too much space.It you're an active person, you've got a lot of bigger equipment like this and it gets hard to store it, this rack is a very nice solution. And kind of a bonus for it is, while it's keeping your stuff nice and stored, nice and organized, it's also gonna keep it out of any harm, so your bikes aren't just leaned up against the wall, could possibly fall over if a vehicle runs into it. Same with your paddleboards and even your kayak is on a set of foam blocks, not making contact with the ground.I'm gonna take a second real quick and go over each part of our kit. With the base rack, at the top we're gonna have the Malone bike holder, which is gonna be two sturdy steel bars with this nice foam wrapping around, that's gonna help protect the wheels of your bike from any type of scratches or abrasions. As you can see, we have it through the spokes of the wheels of our bikes, and we have three on there, that's gonna be the load capacity for it, three bikes with 100-pound total weight capacity.If you have any height restrictions like I do, it kinda gets up there, at the end of the day you might be pretty tired, you don't wanna have to lift your bikes up, especially if they get to be pretty heavy like our mountain bike back here. more

Calen: Hey everyone, I'm Calen here at etrailer and today we're going to take a look at Malone Ski Paddleboard and Kayak Storage Rack.Now this rack is gonna give you an easy way to get all of your outdoor equipment stored without taking up too much space on the floor or the ways.Now if you're anything like me, and you're the outdoorsman type, you like to be very active, sometimes it gets pretty hard to store all of your bigger stuff like your paddleboards and kayaks.This gives you a nice option to vertically store it all; not taking up too much floor space. You can store your other equipment like bikes, or if you're in your garage, you're still going to be able to pull your car inside.Now with this rack, you're going to be able to store two kayaks, two stand-up paddleboards, and six sets of skis, which we have on the backside right now.You don't necessarily have to have it set up in this configuration. You could switch the paddleboards with the kayak. It's really up to you how you want to do it. It's just, in my opinion, we have it set up in the most convenient and organized way.Now our paddleboard holders are going to be connected to our upright arms. Using the included hardware, we're going to have two bolts for each side, with nuts tightening it down. more

It's gonna be a total weight capacity of 250 pounds.Our bikes are held in place by Malone's bike holders. Kuat Class 4 Kayak Carrier Review- Video
Today, we're going to take a look at Kuat's Class 4 Kayak Carrier.Now, this carrier mounts to the roof rack of your vehicle, and it allows you to transport your kayak to and from your destination. If you don't have a truck or anything like that where the kayak is hard to transport, because it can't fit in your vehicle, the carrier's going to come in handy, because it's going to allow you to get the kayak on your roof, and get it from Point A to Point B.Now, a couple of things that set this kayak carrier apart from a lot of others out there is that one, it can lock onto your roof rack. Sometimes, when you leave it unattended, if you're out on the water with your kayak, it's going to be a very nice theft deterrent with these lock cylinders on the quick-mount feet. Also, when the kayak is off, you're going to be able to fold that down and make it more flush with the roof rack.The carrier is going to come included with two straps to tie down your kayak to the carrier and the roof rack. And it's also going to come with two more straps, one for the bow, and one for the stern.One nice feature they added to our bow and stern straps is we're going to have this nice long rubber pad right here. It's going to help protect the finish of our vehicle. more

Kuat J-Style Class 2 Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs Review- Video
Colin: Hey everyone, I'm Colin here at eTrailer, and today we're gonna take a look at Kuat's class two kayak carrier. This is a fix-mounted kayak carrier that mounts to the roof rack of your vehicle, allows you to carry your kayak to and from your destination. It's just a very simple system if you're looking for something that's more entry-level and something that's not gonna have too many gadgets and gizmos, just gonna get your kayak from point A to point B, this will be a great option for you.The carrier is gonna come included with two straps to tie down your kayak to the carrier and the roof rack, and it's also gonna come with two more straps, one for the bow and one for the stern.Both the bow and stern straps are gonna come with this thick rubber pad right here, it's a long strip. It's basically just there so that when you tie it off to your vehicle, wherever the strap makes contact with the paint job of your vehicle, you can put this between the strap and the vehicles to help protect that finish. You're also gonna be able to cut it up and move it around, should the strap be making contact with multiple parts of the vehicle.Now, even though it's a more entry-level kayak carrier, it's still gonna be very stylish and it's gonna be a great option to get the kayak on your roof to create more space on the inside of your vehicle for other cargo or passengers, or even some of those vehicles out there may not be able to fit a kayak on the inside, which leaves this to be a great solution.The cam buckles on both of your boat straps are gonna have these nice rubber coatings around the buckle, that's just gonna help protect your boat's finish and your vehicle's finish from any type of scratches or abrasions while you're getting it strapped down. One nice little touch Kuat added was they included these little straps to tie off your excess strap for all four of your straps.Now, this J-hook style kayak carrier is gonna be very user-friendly. more

Review of Malone Watersport Carriers - Kayak,Canoe - MPG519- Video
Today, we're taking a look at the Malone Wide Track At Large Kayak and Canoe Cart. This is a very handy option if you're trying to get down to the water by yourself since we'll be able to just rest our boat in the frame here, strap it in place and then wheel it down to the water rather than having to hoist our boat ourselves and try to heft it all the way down or risk dragging across the ground and possibly denting and scratching the hull of our boat. Makes it really easy to transport, just basically turns our canoe or kayak into sort of a wheel barrow. Have our two nice wheels on either side. These are going to be non-pneumatic so they are not inflated tires. They're just a solid construction. more

Today we're going to take a look at the Malone Big Foot Pro Roof Rack Canoe Carrier with Tie Downs. Now these universal mount gun wale brackets with the padded bases will let you transport a canoe on your roof rack cross bars. It's also great for carrying a ladder, lumber, or any open hull boat. Basically when you install these on your cross bar, you put them across from each other, just like that. Then what you put in there is how you would carry it, sort of like a channel there.Application: This will work on round, square, arrow, elliptical, and most factory cross bars. The padded brackets grip the canoe. more

Rhino Rack Watersport Carriers Review - 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon- Video
Today on our 2015 Subaru Outback we're going to be doing a test fit on the Rhino Rack Kayak Carrier, part number RR570. The kit includes everything you're going to need, including four saddle mounts, straps, hardware, and tools needed for installation.Now these saddle mounts pivot, which allows you to load and unload the kayak from the side of the vehicle. They also feature a flexible base, which contour to the lines of the kayak. The base is also a rubber material, and that helps prevent any damage or scratches to your kayak. Now the saddle mounts are a clamp on style, which will work with most factory and aftermarket roof rack systems. As you can see here, they're a perfect fit for our Subaru's factory roof rack.And we'll go ahead and remove the straps, so we can take a better look at everything. more

Thule SUP Taxi XT Stand-Up Paddleboard Carrier Installation - 2016 Acura MDX- Video
Speaker 1: Today in our 2016 Acura MDX, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Thule Taxi ST stand up paddle board carrier. That part number is TH810001. This is a carrier that mounts to the roof rack of your vehicle and it carries up to two paddle boards weighing a total of 55 pounds.When you have two paddle boards loaded, you want to keep in mind that you've added a substantial amount of height to your vehicle. So, keep that in mind if you're maybe trying to park in your garage or trying to drive through a low clearance area.Each half of our carrier is gonna have a lock on it, so we can lock our paddle boards down to have a more secure feature. As you can see right now, you can push all the way in and take the strap out. If you want to lock it down, we'll insert our key, lock it in place and now we can't push it down.It's also key to like with the locks that are on our mounting points of the carrier. more

Thule SUP Taxi XT Stand-Up Paddleboard Carrier Review- Video
Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the Thule SUP Taxi XT Standup Paddle Board Carrier, part number TH810001. This Thule SUP carrier is going to allow us to transport up the two paddle boards on the roof of our vehicle.What sets this carrier apart from others is that it has an inverted arch design, which cradles our paddle boards, making it more safe and secure compared to a flat style. Two straps come over the top of our pedal boards, holding them in place. They also feature rubber pads. This is going to provide good grip and prevent damage during transport.The straps then run through the carrier and lock, and then the excess strap is stowed underneath. The nice thing about the locking mechanism is it's going to prevent anyone from removing our paddle boards from our carrier. more
