Our first step is gonna remove the bumper center cap, from underneath you can just put pressure on the cap and dislodge it from its position. Trailer Hitch Installation - 2010 Dodge Caliber- Video

Today on this 2010 Dodge Caliber we are going to be installing Draw-Tite Hitch part number 24769. Before we get started with our installation we are going to go ahead and show you a couple of the final installed dimensions which are going to help make choosing your hitch accessories a little bit easier. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is going to measure 14", and from the center of the pin hole to clear the rear edge of the bumper is going to measure right at 6-1/2", and now we will go ahead and move on to our installation. Okay so we are up underneath the vehicle, and we want to go ahead and locate the hole that we are going to be using to mount the hitch to the vehicle. Starting over here on the drivers side, we are actually looking at the outboard side towards the end of the frame here, and if you see there are two holes here, and these holes actually pass all the way through the frame we will be using each one of those as our attaching points for our trailer hitch and that's actually going to be the same on the passengers side as well. What we are going to be doing is taking the provided 5/8 bolts here and inserting all the way through the holes, and the hitch will actually attach on the inboard side of the frame. more

Alright today on this 2011 Dodge Charger, were going to install part number 13093 from Curt. Alright this is what the hitch looks like when its installed on the car and next well give you some measurements to help you out in selecting some accessories.Have the receiver opening down to the ground and this car is going to be 9 inches and from the center of our hitch pin hole to the outside edge of the bumper is going to be 8 inches. First were going to show you how its installed. First thing we need to do is actually lower part of the exhaust and remove part of the exhaust to make it easier to install the hitch. So were going to put down this clamp right here, put some lubricant, were going to pry the clamp open just a little but, just so theres enough to make it loose. Today on this 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan we are going to install part number 87451 from Hidden Hitch. This will also apply to part number 75579 from Draw-Tite. The first thing we need to do is lower the exhaust over on the passenger side and there are two hangers that we need to undo. There is one right here behind the muffler and there is one farther up past the axle by the main muffler. All you have got to do is unbolt right here. Now you can see the two attaching points in the passenger side here. We are going to use this bolt and this bolt right next to this line. On the driver side is going to use all three bolts shown here. Lets start removing the bolts. We will start with the bolts closest to the bumper and work our way back. 00:52 more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 1990 Dodge Ram Pickup- Video

Today on this 1990 Dodge Ram Pickup we are going to be installing Curt hitch part number 14001. The first thing we want to do is lower our spare tire so we have a little more working room. Look over at the driver side frame rail. On this particular vehicle we do have an existing large hole at the end of the frame. We are going to be using that as the rear most attaching point on both the driver and passenger side. We are going to put the hardware in place there where we are actually going to have to drill two forward most holes on both sides of the frame. Into each one of the holes we are going to be using the 1/ 2 inch carriage bolt along with the 1-1/ 2 by 2 inch block. We are going to combine the two and lay them inside the frame with the threads facing down. 00:33 more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Dodge Durango- Video

Today on this 2007 Dodge Durango we will be installing Curt hitch part number 13296. The first thing we want to do in preparation to installing our hitch is to remove the spare tire to get it out of our way. Looking at the driver side frame rail at the inboard side we have got two attach bolts here and one free bolt here on the forward side. We are going to need to remove the two here at the rear of the vehicle and the third one we are actually just going to remove the nut from the outboard side. We are going to reuse this bolt for our hitch installation and that will be the same for the passenger side as well. For the forward bolt we just want to push it through. You can see they will not fully come out because it is hitting on the body mount here. We want to push it back far enough to where the bolt sits about even with the flange here at the bottom side of the bumper bracket. At the two rear most attaching points we are going to be putting in new bolts along with the flat washer. We just want to slide those through just about the same position as the forward most fastener. 01:00 more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 1987 Dodge Ram Pickup- Video

Today on this 1987 Dodge Ram Pickup we will be installing Curt hitch part number 14001. We are underneath the vehicle looking at the passenger side frame rail. We are going to go ahead and point out the mounting locations for the trailer hitch. The hitch is going to attach directly to the bottom of the frame here at this edge. Depending on your model year there may be existing holes here at the bottom of the frame that will align with the trailer hitch. We are going to be using the 1/ 2 hole that is a little bit more forward here on the frame. We are actually going to go ahead and align that to the middle attaching hole on the trailer hitch and then we will just go ahead and drill out the four other holes. So the first thing we want to do is go ahead and take one of the carriage bolts and blocks. Merge the two together and it from the top side here of the frame to where the threads will protruding down. 00:47 more

Today on an 2006 Dodge Durango we are going to install part number 75162 from Draw-Tite. The hitch mounts actually to the bumper structure underneath the bumper cover so what we are going to to do is loosen up the bumper cover to get access to the bumper structure itself. Now I will take a block of wood and we will just put up it in between the bumper structure and the fascia so we will have a little more working room and then we will start working on cutting out the Styrofoam. Today on this 2006 Dodge Charger we will be installing Curt hitch part number 13465. We are underneath the vehicle and before we get started we need to go ahead and lower the exhaust off of both frame rails so that we can gain access to the existing weld nuts in the frame. There are two hangers per side that we are going to remove the exhaust off of. One here and one here on the driver side and then one here and here on the passenger side. And on some models it may be necessary to go ahead and remove the third hanger as well to gain just a little bit more room. more

Today on this 2009 Dodge Caliber we will be installing Hidden Hitch part number 60832. This installation will also apply for Draw-Tite part number 24769. We are underneath the vehicle and we are actually looking at the driver side frame rail. You can see here on the side of the frame we have got two existing holes. Those are going to provide our attaching points on both sides of the vehicle here. What we are going to be using are the long 5/ 8 bolts that are provided with our installation kit. There is actually a cushioning inside of these holes here that will allow us to slide these bolts all the way through. So what we are going to do is just slide those in and what we want to do is leave them flush with the frame rail here because the hitch is actually going to slide up on the inboard side here. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan- Video

Today on this 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan we will be installing hitch part number 36455 from Draw-Tite. This hitch application also applies to Hidden Hitch part number 90169. The first thing you want to do is get underneath the vehicle and lower the exhaust off its rear most hanger here on the passenger side. To remove it off of its hanger you want to just spray the stud here down with a spray lubricant like a WD-40. And then we can just use a crowbar and kind of get behind there to pry it off. And with the exhaust off of its hanger you can kind of pull it out of the way here. With the exhaust pulled out of the way you can see we have two existing bolts here in the frame. Those are going to provide our two attaching points for our trailer hitch on both sides of the vehicle. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2006 Dodge Ram- Video

Today we are going to install part number 75662 from Draw-Tite, and we are going to install this on a 2006 Dodge Ram full-size pickup. First we will show you where the hitch mounts onto the vehicle. It does mount onto the crossbar that is underneath the bumper here basically, like half a hitch is already there. It also is going to tie into the bumper itself. And what is going to happen is this cover for the center ball hole here is going to be actually used by the hitch. What we are going to do is pop this cover off, and we are going to a bolt that goes through here down to the hitch. Let us go ahead and take a look at the bottom of the bumper and give you a better idea of how the hitch is going to mount up. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2006 Dodge Stratus- Video

Today we are going to be installing Draw-Tite hitch part number 36301 on a 2006 Dodge Stratus. Okay, we are underneath the vehicle now. As you can see here on the passenger's side of the vehicle, we have the exhaust, which is going to need to be lowered. That is the first thing that we are going to need to do. And again with the bolts removed off of the bracket, I am going to go ahead and remove the rubber hangers off there as well. Before I remove the front hanger, I went ahead and added a tow strap to support the exhaust, because once we remove this front hanger the exhaust is going to come down quite a bit, and we do not want it to completely fall because it could damage the exhaust. And you can see with the exhaust down now, we are going to need to remove this bolt and then remove as the two as well from the driver's side, and then we can go ahead and put our hitch up into position. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Dodge Charger RT- Video

Today we are going to install part number 13465 from Curt on a 2007 Dodge Charger RT. The first thing we need to do is lower the exhaust. We have got two points we need to lower: one here, and one in the back. Now, we can simply unbolt those from the frame and it will come down. And we will do that on both sides. And also, for added safety, and to keep the stress down on the exhaust, we added this safety strap here. And one other point we need to disconnect will be right here, that is going to be right in front of the converter here. And basically we are going to just take this off and let the exhaust fall down as much as possible, limited by the strap, of course. And that will give us plenty of working room. Now we will take down this side of the exhaust. All right, and now we will do the passengers side. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 1991 Dodge Dynasty- Video

Today we are going to install part number 36136 on a 1991 Dodge Dynasty. Where the hitch installs on this vehicle, it will install on the two EA bolts right here - the Energy Absorber. The hitch will sit on top of this plate and get bolted back into place, and then it also will attach to one of these holes back behind the energy absorber, in the frame here. And we do the same thing on both sides. However, we will have to modify the exhaust lower, before we are all said and done, on the drivers side. And this is the exhaust bracket that we will have to lower and modify, but for now we will just go ahead and unbolt it into the frame plate here. And we will leave that there, that just like that, for now. more
