Today on our 2004 Jeep Wrangler, we'll be installing Hidden Hitch, part number 87431. Here's what our hitch will look like once it's installed. Next, I'll give you a couple measurements to assist in selecting accessories for your new hitch such as a ball mount, bike rack or cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer most edge of the rear mounted spare tire is 6 1/4 inches. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is 17 1/2 inches. We'll now go ahead with installation. Now to begin our install, we'll first go ahead and note that the vehicle's tow hooks and rear bolt that goes into the weld nut of the frame have already been removed because an after market bumper has been installed. more

From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the rear-mounted spare tire is 6-1/4 inches. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is 17-1/2 inches. We'll now go ahead with the installation. Now, to begin our install, we'll first go ahead and note that the vehicle's tow hooks and rear bolt that goes into the weld nut of the frame have already been removed because an aftermarket bumper has been installed. more

Next I'll give you a couple measurements to assist you in selecting accessories for you new hitch. Such as a wall mount, bike rack, or cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer most edge of the rear mounted spare tire is 6 and a quarter inches. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is 17 and a half inches. We'll now go ahead with the installation. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2004 Jeep Wrangler

Today on this 2004 Jeep Wrangler we will be installing Curt hitch part number 13408. We are underneath the Wrangler here and we are going to go ahead and point out the mounting location for the trailer hitch. Looking here at the driver side frame rail, this particular model has a factory installed tow hook. Some models have it, some models do not. If you do, you have to go ahead and have that removed. Take it off by removing the two bolts here. And we just need to remove the handle nut from inside the frame there. The mounting holes for both sides of the vehicle are going to be the weld nut here that is at the end of the frame and the larger, oblong hole here just forward of the weld nut. more
