Today on our 2013 Chevrolet Silverado we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Hopkins insight flex mount trailer brake controller. Part number HM47297. On our controller switch there's a manual override, so if you needed to apply the brakes to your trailer manually simply squeeze in and apply pressure. This button with the plus and the minus on it is going to control your power sent to your trailer brakes. As you go up it goes up in increments of 5% and will do the same thing on the way down. The other side of that switch has an S on the button. more

Today on our 2013 Chevrolet Silverado, well be installing the Curt TriFlex Trailer Brake Controller for one to four axles in the proportional style part number C51140. Additionally, well be installing the Curt Universal Wiring Adapter for Curt Trailer Brake Controllers part number C51515. Well being here over on the driver side underneath the dash. Well need to pull down the factor wires and well be using it to tie in with our brake controller. This here is the Curt Universal Wiring Adapter for Curt Brake Controllers. We need to connect these four wires to four of the wires here. Well be making these connections using some butt connectors. The butt connectors that well be using to make these connections are part number DW05714. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 90885

Today on our 2013 Chevy Silverado we'll be installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 brake controller part number 90885. To begin our install we'll first locate the manufacturers wiring harness where the brake controller pigtail is taped up to the main wiring harness.Now that we've located the wires using our utility knife we will go ahead and cut them free. Then we'll pull down the tape and label which will identify the functions of each color. Then we'll go ahead and cut off any excess from the wires and strip them back.Next, we'll take our brake controller pigtail and add the bud connectors provided with our install kit. Now with our wires ready we'll go ahead and start making our connections.Starting with the dark blue wire coming from the vehicle and the dark blue from the brake controller pigtail we'll go ahead and connect the two with the yellow bud connector. We'll repeat the same process with the white wire from the vehicle and the white wire from our brake controller pigtail.Next, we'll take the red wire with the black tracer from the vehicle and connect it with the black wire coming from the brake controller pigtail and finally we'll take the light blue wire with the white tracer from the vehicle and connect it with the red wire from the brake controller pigtail completing the brake to a circuit.Now with all of our connections made I'm going to go ahead and take some black electrical tape and wrap up our wires also it will help clean up our install. more

Okay, today on this 2013 Chevrolet Silverado, were going to install part number 90195 from Tekonsha. This is the P3 Brake Controller. The first thing were going to do is get underneath the dash and find the factory tow harness for our brake controller. Well go ahead and look up underneath the dash and over towards the left hand side looking up. Therell be some wires taped up. On this vehicle, its actually pretty easy to see. more
