Hey, everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be checking out the Curt Echo in-line wireless trailer brake controller. Whenever you plan on pulling a trailer that has brakes, you're gonna need a way to apply 'em, you know That way you can slow down everything as a whole unit and not just rely on your vehicle to do all the braking. And so, when that situation occurs, that's where a brake controller, like the Curt one here, is gonna come into play. So the way it's gonna work, whenever you hit the brakes in your vehicle, it's gonna send a signal back and apply the brakes on your trailer helping to bring you to that safe and controlled stop. There are a ton of different brake controllers available, and this particular one's really unique, I think it's pretty cool and, personally, I've yet to see one similar to it. more

Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller Installation - 2019 Nissan Armada- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing RED ARC Tow Pro Liberty brake controller on a 2019 Nissan Armada. The Armada has a pretty heavy duty towing capacity. And with that and with heavier trailers generally you're gonna have trailer brakes associated with it and it's just gonna make your towing experience a lot better. You can control that swaying trailer if it's improperly loaded or just coming to a stop, it's gonna slow that trailer down and keep it from pushing the vehicle around. Your typical brake controller, you've probably seen them kind of living under here in the dash area and you've probably smacked your knees on them before as they do take up a decent amount of area. And a lot of 'em will have digital readouts and your manual slide. more

Hi there, Hyundai owners. Today, on your 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Tekonsha's BRAKE-EVN trailer brake controller. In addition to the trailer brake controller, we're gonna be using kit ETBC7 here at etrailer to help us get all the wiring and seven-way connector mounted up here at the back. And this is what our brake controller looks like when it's installed. You have adjustments here on the left and the right, and the brake controller's purpose is to activate the brakes on your trailer when you're hauling your trailer. So, if you've got a heavier trailer and you need to help it stop your vehicle, you wanna make sure you got a brake controller to activate those brakes so you get that extra stopping power. more

Tekonsha Electric Brake Controllers Plug-In Wiring Adapter Review- Video
Hola neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today, we're taking a look at the Tekonsha Trailer Wiring Harness Adapter for your Tekonsha brake controller on a Nissan or Infiniti SUV. So this is gonna work with your Armada and also your Q series SUVs, and it's gonna work pretty easily by simply just plugging into the factory tow package, and this other end is gonna allow you to plug into your Tekonsha or Draw-Tite style brake controller, making this a plug and play installation super easy. Now, if you have a Tekonsha brake controller like we have here, we have a Prodigy P2, they have a very similar connector to a bunch of the different Tekonsha brake controllers as well as the Draw-Tite. And this harness is gonna allow us to simply snap this into place here, and then this portion will plug in directly to our tow package, which is gonna be located under the dash. Now, to find your plug, it's gonna be pretty easy. Now, I have this portion of our panel dropped down, you don't need to do that, I'm just doing this to make it a little bit easier for you to find it. more

The button is sold separately, and we'll be installing it today on a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2,500. But as long as you have a 7-way USCAR connection on your vehicle, you can follow along. The installation's gonna be almost identical. Unlike those big boxes that hang down underneath where you're potentially and your legs on it, they're harder to see, harder to activate the manual slide, you get the opportunity to mount this in a much more discreet location. Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2020 Hyundai Palisade- Video
Hey guys, Kevin here with etrailer and today I'm gonna be showing you how to install the Tekonsha P3 Prodigy Brake Controller here on our 2020 Hyundai Palisade. The Tekonsha P3 Prodigy is one of the most popular proportional brake controllers on the market just because it's super easy to install and use. And when I say proportional brake controller, what I mean is that the brakes are going to be applied on your trailer in proportion to how hard you press the brakes in your vehicle. So if you make a light stop, maybe you're coming up to a stop sign and you're just barely pressing on the brakes, it's gonna proportionately activate the brakes on your trailer versus if you had to slam on the brakes, maybe you're gonna get into an accident on the highway and you slam on 'em, then it is going to slam on the brakes on your trailer as well to help stop them in time. Right now you can see that our setting for our brake power is at zero and that's because it's not applying to brakes. If you look at your little arrows right here, it's going to give you your brake settings. more

If you own a 2019 Toyota Sequoia, it can haul a lot and you know that it's basically a truck. So what I suggest is getting a brake controller. We have a lot of them, ones that just go inside but the one I like the best is the Curt Echo, why Well, it just goes into the back and hooks up to your trailer and you connect to it with your phone. So it's the easiest thing to install. You really don't have to install it, you just plug it in, download the app and sync everything up. Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Curt Echo Wireless Proportional Trailer Brake Controller for one to two axle trailers. Now, this brake controller will plug into your vehicle, and it'll wirelessly connect to your smartphone, and it uses a Bluetooth connection, which will let you control all your brake settings from an app on your smartphone. Basically, you can see this part here will plug into your 7-way at the back of your vehicle, and then right up here you'll plug in the 7-way connector from your trailer into the port here. It's a very nice, easy to use design, it's very simple to install. Now, it does require a smart device that has OS requirements if it's an Apple device of 8.0 or newer and a Android device of 4.3 or newer. more

Hey, everybody, how's it going Today, we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller here in a 2021 Ford F-150. So the P3 is gonna be a great addition to your F-150 here if you don't already have a factory brake controller installed on the vehicle. So a trailer brake controller is gonna allow you to control the brakes, the electric brakes on a trailer from inside the cab of the vehicle. So all your larger trailers with those seven-way trailer connectors, most of them are gonna require an electric trailer brake controller, which is where the P3 comes into play. Hey everybody, how's it going Today we're gonna be going over and showing you how to install the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty trailer brake controller here on a 2017 Toyota Sequoia. So, one of the biggest standout features here of the Redarc brake controller, is what it looks like when it's installed on your vehicle. Now, normally with our traditional brake controller, you're not only gonna be drilling into your dash you're gonna be taking up some of that vital leg room, getting in and out. A lot of people like to refer to those controllers as knee-knockers, and that's our traditional style break controller, it's rather large and clunky. Now with the Redarc, we're not gonna have any of those same issues because most everything is actually gonna be installed behind the dash. The only thing we can see is a small little control knob, and you can see it only sticks out around a half inch or so from your dash here, so you're not taking up much space whatsoever and it looks pretty much factory for you ask me. more

The Redarc is a awesome brake controller and the main reason why is gonna be the footprint. Most brake controllers, when you think of them, you probably have scars somewhere on your knees from hitting them as you get in because they mount down low and sometimes they can be in a nice position, but honestly it does get in the way when you're getting in and out. And over time, it's just one thing that's kind of in the way. If you can eliminate that, get a bigger foot, or a smaller footprint that looks nice in OEM but still have all the functions, why not And that's where this one comes into play. more

To assist us with this install, we're also going to be using a plug-and-play harness from Tekonsha. We will still have to do a little bit of splicing but it's gonna make our world a whole lot easier. REDARC's Tow-Pro Elite is going to be a very hidden brake controller that's installed in our Mercedes here. There's a lot of these Cherokees out on the road and people use 'em to do a lot of different things and pull on some relatively large trailers around. Something that you see from time to time, pop up campers, things like that and if your trailer has electric brakes on it, you're gonna need a way to apply those brakes, that way you're not solely relying on your Jeep to not only slow itself down but the trailer too. So having a brake controller like this one here that's where it's going to change things up a little bit. Hi there, Colorado owners. Then your 2022 Chevrolet Colorado we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Tekonsha's Voyager proportional Brake Controller. This is a proportional brake controller so the inertia sensor inside will detect vehicle movement. So if you ever slam on the brake show your body like kind of slams forward the inertia sensor detects that, and it knows that it's your vehicle is slowing down based on that. And it uses that along with your adjustment controls to give you the best breaking performance at the back. This is a very simple brake controller beyond the adjustment for a level and the output control. more

Instructor Hi there, Colorado owners. Today on your 2022 Chevrolet Colorado we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Tekonsha's P3 proportional trailer brake controller. What's nice about these proportional brake controllers is you get a much more natural braking, 'cuz when you hit the brake pedal it detects that your vehicle is, it can feel that move in, and then the slowing down movement. The inertia sensor detects that and it uses that to determine how intense to apply the brakes to help match your vehicle. You do still have your options for setting your power. We've got a maximum being 14, and then you can go all the way down with it. more
