Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2023 Chevy Equinox, we're gonna be checking out the Roadmaster Nighthawk Tow Bar with Blue Ox Ends. Before we jump right in I figured it'd be useful just to touch base and refresh ourselves on the main parts that we're gonna need to flat tow our Equinox down the road in the first place. First component will be your base plate. What that's gonna do is provide us with a solid and reliable connection point, that way we can hook our tow bar up to it. Tow bar is that second component and this is gonna be the physical link that actually connects the front of your Equinox to the back of your coach. more

Now, your base plate is gonna be one of five main components required for flat towing a vehicle. And the base plate creates a structural support that mounts to the frame of the vehicle, allowing you to hook up to your tow bar. And your tow bar is the connection point between the towed vehicle and the RV. Now, this tow bar is different than your other more traditional tow bars because rather than sliding into a hitch receiver on the back of your RV, this is going to attach to a two-inch ball mount. And as you can see, we have our coupler right here. So this is just going to drop down on your two-inch ball mount on the back of your RV. more

Now this is a pretty heavy duty tow bar coming in at a 8,000 pound capacity. So right now we have it hooked up to a Jeep Wrangler which is definitely less than that 8,000. But this is an investment that once you buy this tow bar you can really move up to a larger vehicle in the future if you plan to and still be in that safe weight capacity. Your Nighthawk is gonna be one of the five main components required for flat towing a vehicle. And this creates the attachment point between the RV and the vehicle. more

Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain Tow Bar Installation - 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Roadmaster Nighthawk tow bar with Blue Ox adapters on it. A 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Your Nighthawk is gonna be one of the five main components required for flat-towing a vehicle and this be creates the attachment point between the RV and the vehicle. You have the hitch on the RV, and it attaches to the base plate on your towed vehicle, and that's gonna be the mounting point for a lot of your components that attaches to the frame of the vehicle creating a nice solid mounting point. Now on your base plate, we also have a safety chain and this is going to make sure that in case of an accidental disconnect, you're still attached to the hitch on the RV. We also have our supplemental braking system and that's going to bring the vehicle to a slower stop as you apply the brakes on the RV but you also have a breakaway cable, and that way, in case of a catastrophic disconnect, it's gonna pull that cable, putting the brakes on the vehicle and bringing it to a stop, rather than rolling down the highway. more

Now this one we have here is actually for Blue Ox baseplates, so it just has the adapters for those arms but it's also available in a Roadmaster configuration. The SD is rated at 6,000 pounds, which is gonna be perfect for our Jeep Wrangler, but it also opens it up too if you're planning on getting a larger vehicle or if your vehicle is heavier than a Jeep you have up to 6,000 pounds. And really it comes down to price point on a lot of 'em. But something I'll point out that I always recommend when choosing a tow bar is getting one that's non-binding. And what that simply means is you don't have to be on perfectly level ground to unhook your vehicle. And if you've ever had a binding tow bar, once it's locked it is very tough to get that to release. more

Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain Tow Bar Installation - 2022 Chevrolet Spark- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Roadmaster Nighthawk Tow Bar on a 2022 Chevrolet Spark. Now, if you've seen flat-towed vehicles, you see the tow bar connecting the towed vehicle to the RV and they all kind of tend to look the same. But this is one that really stands out. I can spot these across the highway and that's because it has these nice LED lights and that seems like a pretty small thing, but from what I've heard, people out on the road, swear by it because when you're towing your vehicle at night, the headlights are not on. So if someone's next to your towed vehicle, this gives them an indication that it's actually just behind the RV, that way, it's not just someone tailgating the RV, they can know that something's attached and not to merge over. And that's one of many small features that make the Nighthawk really stand out in a wide range of tow bars. more

Now the Avail is a really nice tow bar as far as weight capacities go. This one comes in pretty heavy duty at 10,000 pounds as its capacity, so for this F-150, that's plenty. Really anything that you plan on flat towing, even in the future, this should keep up with it pretty easily. Now it is non-binding, which is a awesome feature to have and kind of the new standard of most tow bars. But really other than that, it's really no frills and that's not a bad thing because it's heavy duty, it's easy to use, it does come with these safety cables and it's just gonna work. more

Hi, there Colorado owners! Today, in your 2022 Chevrolet Colorado we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install Roadmaster's Falcon All-Terrain Tow Bar. You can see here that the Falcon All-Terrain does have a nice gray finish to it and it does have a lot of features of it. To me, this is one of my favorite tow bars. Now this Tow bar does have a 6,000 pound rating so you do wanna check your vehicle and the GVRW on our Colorado here is also 6,000. So we are good to go with this tow bar but if you wanted to just give yourself some headroom for potentially upgrading to a larger vehicle in the future you can get all the same features that the Falcon here has in the Black Hawk version. Well, let's just dive into some of these features. more

And this is what our etrailer XHD tow bar looks like. We can see here that it does have a tiltable head with an adjustment on it for drop and rise. And that's kind of the main feature of this tow bar here. A lot of setups will require a drop or rise to even out the distance between your receiver here on your motor home and your connection point on your base plate. And most tow bars are just straight. more

Hello, neighbors. It's Brad here at etrailer. And today, we're taking a look at the etrailer SD tow bar on a 2022 Chevy Equinox. Now, some of the features that this tow bar offers kind of put it above some of the other ones that are out there. And that's really gonna be your non-binding, which is pretty much gonna mean once this is locked out and you're ready to unhook the vehicle, you can simply push this down and it'll allow you to pull these arms back, where binding tow bars are kind of a pain. They have to be on a flat, level ground and can be really tricky to unlatch. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Roadmaster Nightawk tow bar on a 2022 Jeep Cherokee. Now, as you can see this attachment point might look a little bit different than your typical Roadmaster, and really all the difference is is this is set up for a Blue Ox. So, if you have a Blue Ox space plate, you're gonna wanna make sure to select the Nighthawk that has the blue ox attachments and that way it goes together. And that's really the only difference between the rest of the tow bar is just gonna be this attachment point. Now, the Nighthawk is the premier tow bar that's out on the market and it's got all the bells and whistles and overall it's just super high quality in pretty much every point. And a lot of that comes down to just Roadmaster quality, but a lot of your touch points and just the mechanics of it overall feel really good. more

Now this tow bar is going to be available in two different options and it's going to be identical except for the attachments, and you can pick between the Blue Ox style or the Roadmaster style, depending on your base plate. Now, the one that we have here is gonna have the ends for the Blue Ox baseplate. It's also available in the Roadmaster style, and these tow bars are gonna be identical except for the connecting points that go to your baseplate.
