Now with your four pole flat, when you're not using it, roll it up, and store it inside your box. When you're ready to use it .. Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2008 Toyota Highlander- Video

Today on our 2008 Toyota Highlander we're going to be taking a look at the Curt T-connector vehicle wiring harness for factory tow package, part number 56042. So here's what our wiring's going to look like when it's fully installed. It's going to give a four pole flat and the ability to plug in our trailer and have lights from our vehicle running on our trailer. And when we're not using it, it's going to stay inside the vehicle, right underneath our panel here, tucked away nicely. It will be ready whenever we need it. I do want to mention that this particular kit is for a vehicle with a factory tow prep package. Curt does make a wiring harness that has everything you need if your vehicle does not have the prep package, and you can use part number C56217. Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2013 Toyota Tacoma- Video

Today on our 2013 Toyota Tacoma we'll be having a look at and installing the Tekonsha T1 Vehicle Wiring Harness with Four Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 118496. Here's what our wiring looks like installed. This wiring will give us the basic lighting functions that we need as required by law in order to safely tow a trailer. We'll have our taillight and running light signal off the brown wire, our left turn signal and left brake light off the yellow wire, and our right turn signal and right brake light off the green wire. White wire here is our ground. When it comes to power output of our wiring harness, for our stop and our turn signal circuits, this circuit has 2.1 amps total power output per side. Now, for our taillight and running light circuit, we have a total power output of 7.5 amps. more

Today on our 2016 Toyota Highlander we'll be having a look at and installing the Hopkins plug in simple vehicle wiring harness for four pole flat trailer connector, Part number HM11141845. With our wiring installed, we're ready to hook up to our trailer. We can just drape it to the side of our hatch latch here. Close our hatch on up, by staying away from the latch we'll ensure that it doesn't get crushed or damaged. We have plenty wire length here to hook up to our trailer. We can even tuck some more away on the inside if we need to. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 Toyota Highlander- Video

Today on our 2016 Toyota Highlander we'll be having a look at and installing the Curt T Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with Four Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C56217. All right, here's what our wiring looks like installed. When we're ready to use it we can just drape it to the side of our hatch latch here so it won't get damaged, and we'll close our hatch on up. As you can see, we have an adequate length of wire, so we have plenty of room to hook up to our trailer; we won't have any problems reaching it at all. Now, this wiring will give us our required functions as we need by law in order to safely tow our trailer. We'll have our taillights, our running lights, both our left and right turn signal, and our brake lights. This wiring harness provides us with a maximum power output of 3 amps for our turn signals and our brake lights, and a total power output of 6 amps for our taillights and our running light circuit. more

Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2016 Toyota Highlander 118449- Video

Today on our 2016 Toyota Highlander, we'll be having a look at and installing the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with Four-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number 118449. With our wiring installed, one nice feature about it is we can store it out of the elements inside our vehicle in our cargo compartment here, keeping it readily accessible and protected. When ready to tow, close our hatch on up. By having it off to the side of our latch, we don't have to worry about the wire getting crushed or damaged. As you see, we have adequate slack to bring our wiring very close to where our receiver is, so we shouldn't have any problems hooking up to our trailer at all. One nice feature about our wiring here is we have this dust cover on it that'll protect it from any dirt and debris, which may be inside of our trunk, helping prevent a short or poor connection. This wiring gives us all the functions that we need in order to legally tow a trailer safely. We will have our tail light function, a running light function, turn signal functions, and our brake light functions. Now, this wiring harness will provide us with 2.1 amps of power for our stop and turn signal lights on our trailer with a max tail light amperage or running light amperage of 5.6 amps. more

So here's what our old wiring looks like now that it's been installed. As you can see, it's completely hidden inside our vehicle. To gain access to it, just lift up on your spare tire cover, pull it out from down below, close the cover back up on. Today in our 2014 Toyota Sienna, we'll be installing a Tekonsha T one vehicle wiring harness with a four pole flat trailer connector. Part number 118498.Speaker 2: Okay, right now we have our wire drake out of our trunk area to the side of our latch. We're going to go ahead and close our trunk. As you can see, we have an adequate length wire to hang down here next to our hitch, to connect to our trailer. Once we hook up to our trailer here, and plug our lighting in our electrical connector, from our trailer into our wiring harness, then we're ready to hit the rode. When we arrive at our destination, we unhook from our trailer, and we're ready to store our wiring back inside the vehicle. We'll plug the dust cover back over our connector here. more

First we've got the Curt T connector wiring harness with 4 pole flat trailer connector, part number C55513, and we've also got the Tekonsha T1 vehicle wiring harness with 4 pole flat trailer connector, part number 118496. Curt also has a wiring harness available with a 5 pole flat trailer connector which is going to be good if you've got a trailer with surge brakes and you need that reverse light circuit. That one's going to be part number C56513. The biggest difference that we're going to see between these 2 wiring harnesses is the amperage ratings on the circuits. On the Curt, it has a 3 amp rating on the turn and brake light circuits, and a 5 amp rating on the tail light circuits. On the Tekonsha, it has a 2.1 amp rating on the brake and turn circuits, but a 7.5 rating on the tail light circuit. more

Today, on our 2016 Toyota Tacoma, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Tekonsha T-One vehicle wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector, part number 118685. Here's what this trailer wiring is going to look like once it's installed on the vehicle. As you can see, it's tucked up nicely here, where it comes down right to the hitch. If we un-clip it, you'll see that we've got a four flat connector here. This is going to do a great job of providing power for your turn signals, brake lights, and running lights on a trailer or cargo carrier that you may have behind you. This wiring kit uses T-connectors at the back of the tail lights in order to gain the signal for each circuit. Then it's also connected to the battery so that it doesn't overload your vehicle's electrical system. Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2009 Toyota Sienna- Video

Today on our 2009 Toyota Sienna, we're going to show you how to install the "CURT T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector," part number is C55580. Here's what our wiring kit's going to look like when we pull it out of the package. Here, you can see our 4 flat trailer connector. This is what we need to get tail lights, brakes and blinker signals to either a trailer or cargo carrier or something of that nature. It uses a converter box that you can see here, which takes signal from our passenger side, from our driver side, and it converts it into a usable signal that we'll have here at the plug. The factory-style connectors simply clip directly in-line between our already existing connectors, so there's no need at all to modify the vehicle's wiring. You'll see here we've got a little ground wire, self-tapping screws provided that we can use to go through that ring terminal to get it secure or we may also have the option of simply using an existing stud underneath the vehicle. They've also provided us with some zip ties and some double-sided foam tape to help us along with our installation. more

Our four pull plug, when we're ready for use, we'll just bring it over and let it sit right over the set rubber gasket there. That allows it to be held in place nicely. We're able to close our door there on top and then just pull out whatever that it is that we need. When not in use, what we can do is coil up that wire, just like that, bring that cap around and then we can use that to hold our wiring nice and tightly right here. Today on our 2010 Toyota Tundra, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Draw-Tite fifth wheel and gooseneck wiring harness with a 7-pole connector, part number 20110. Here's what the fifth wheel gooseneck wiring looks like once it's installed in the truck. As you can see, it's tucked away nicely over here on the side of the bed. It's got this little housing for the 7-way connector that has a spring-loaded lid, in order to help keep out any dirt and debris. It's a nice, easy install. It comes with all the hardware that you'll need in order to install it. Something that's really nice about this wiring setup is that you don't have to run any extra wiring up into the cabin or under the hood. It just simply plugs in to your existing 7-way wiring. First thing we'll want to do to begin our install is we'll want to locate a good spot in the bed for us to mount this. more

Curt 5th Wheel Wiring Harness Installation - 2015 Toyota Tundra- Video

Today on our 2015 Toyota Tundra, we're going to show you how to install the Curt Fifth Wheel and Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness with 7-Pole Connector, part number is C56000. To begin our installation, we're going to figure out to start where we're going to be mounting our 7-way plug. As you can see, this gives us an extension or a way to move these remotely from the wiring itself to allow us to hook up maybe a popup key or gooseneck, fifth wheel, stuff like that. Now, we're going to be mounting it somewhere over here in the back side of the truck, unless you need it somewhere else, each application may be a little bit different. I would avoid the sunk in areas. Those are really close to the bed side. What we're looking for is enough area for this once it flushes up against the truck there for this to pass through and also a plug that will be on that back side, so typically down lower in this area is a good idea. more

Today on our 2014 Toyota Avanza we're installing our Curt T Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector, part number C56079. All right, here's what our plug looks like once it's installed. Reasons you would need this is if you had a small trailer you wanted to pull behind your vehicle. If you had a bike rack that had a plug that could plug in some lights to it. If you had magnetic tow lights for something you could plug that into this. This will run your blinkers, your running lights, and your brake lights. All right, when you want to use it we just tuck our wire off to the side, we do not want it have it sitting in here, this can pinch it. But if we have it run right along the side here, the weather stripping allows us to close the back hatch without pinching anything. more
