Today on our 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're going to be installing the Hopkins 7- and 4-pole trailer connector for the vehicle end, part number HM40975. Here's what our 4- and 7-way plug looks like as well as the bracket that comes with the kit. To install the plug and the bracket you would just simply slide it in. It would snap into position. We're going to need to choose a location here on the underside of the bumper to mount our bracket. This hitch is one of the heavy-duty hitches. more

Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 3500, we'll be installing the Hopkins Endurance 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness with 7-Pole Plug. Part number 41157 and we're going to need to choose a location to mount our new 7-way plug. It will be here at the driver's side rear corner of the bed. Right in this area, here, is a pretty good spot. There's plenty of room behind it, so we'll go ahead and take our two and an eighth hole saw. We'll drill a hole through the rear corner of the bed. Now that we have our hole drilled, we'll go ahead and take this 90-degree end, we're going to feed it up and over the frame and then we'll feed it in the hole that we just drilled. more

Today on our 2002 Chevy Impala, we'll be installing the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Connector, part number 118512. Now to begin our install we'll first go ahead and open up the trunk, we will be removing the rear threshold. We'll simply get underneath it and pop it up releasing the four fasteners underneath. Next we'll move behind the driver side taillight assembly and remove the three black wing nuts that we can see. Then we can go ahead and pull the carpeting back and there are two more additional fasteners to be removed. We can go ahead move the taillight assembly and pop it out of this position and then remove the wiring connector at the bottom releasing the lacking tab and pulling out separating the two connectors. This will allow us to take the driver side taillight assembly and set it aside. more

Today on our 2010 Chevrolet Express van we will be installing the tow-ready T1 vehicle wiring harness with four pole flat trailer connector, part number 118392. We will begin here at the rear of the vehicle and we'll need to open up the two rear cargo doors. Now, let's go ahead and point out the two connection points we'll be tying our T1 wiring harness in with. Now, to disconnect the factory wiring harness, we'll simply push in on the locking tab and gently pull the connection point apart. Now, we'll go ahead and take our T fitting for over here on the driver's side. We'll be using the one that has three wires. The white wire with the ring terminal for the ground and the brown and yellow wires that are tied in with the T connection. more

Today on our 2009 Chevrolet Express Van, we'll be installing the tow ready T-1 vehicle wiring harness with four pull flat trailer connector, part number 118392. First, we'll go ahead and open up the rear doors of the van. Now, we'll begin over here on the passenger side. We'll need to locate the factory connector and we'll need to unplug it. We'll then add our T connector inline. To unplug the factory connection, we'll push in on the little tab right here and gently pull the connection apart. We'll then take the two connectors that are at the end of the green wire and add them inline here, making sure that when we put the connection points back together, the locking tabs fully engage. Then we'll go ahead and route our green wire up and around the door area, using a few zip ties to secure it to the factory wiring harness. more

All right today on this 2012 Chevrolet Equinox we're going to install part number 56094 from Curt. This is a Curt T connector vehicle wiring harness with a four pole flat. All right, first thing we need to do is go ahead and get access to the wiring harness. We'll go ahead and lift up the tailgate and then we need to remove the tail lights. We'll remove the covers to get access to the fasteners. We'll do this on both sides of the car. We're going to pop them out with a screwdriver and then we'll remove the bolt inside. more

Today, on this 2005 Chevrolet Silverado Crew Cab, this is a Hopkins Endurance 5th Wheel Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness. Were going to install part number 41157. This is actually relatively easy to install. First off, lets find a location where were going to install our 7-pole connector. In this case, it will be closer to the tailgate. Once we find our location, well go ahead and drill out a 1/4 pilot hole. After we drill out our pilot hole, well go ahead and enlarge it with a hole saw to a diameter of 2-1/8. Once we have our hole drilled out, well go ahead and install our wire harness. more

Today on our 2013 Chevy Silverado we'll be installing the Hopkins Endurance fifth wheel and gooseneck 90 degree wiring harness, part number 41157. To begin our install we'll first locate where we're going to mount the new 7-pole connector in the pickup bed. For this application, we'll be doing it behind the driver's side wheel well. Using our hole saw bit, we'll go ahead and cut out the hole for our 7-pole plug. With our hole cut out, we'll then go ahead and take the 7-pole end and route it up underneath the vehicle out the hole we just created into the pickup bed. Once we have our wire routed, we'll go ahead and take some of the dielectric grease provided with the install kit and put it on the end of the wiring connector. Then we can go ahead and take the wiring connector and secure it to the back of the 7-pole connector. We'll go ahead and check to make sure it locked in place. more

Part number 41157.We'll begin here underneath the rear of the vehicle as we locate the factory 7 way plug. We'll need to unplug this right here by simply pushing in on the tab on the side. Now we'll take our new Hopkins Endurance Fifth Wheel and gooseneck, 90 degree wiring harness, and you will see that there is 2 plugs on one end. This is where we will be tying in with our factory wiring harness. We'll use the dielectric grease supplied with the kit and install it on the female portion of the plugs. more

Today on our 2012 Chevy Cruze, we will be installing the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat connector, part number C56125. To begin our install, we will first open up the rear trunk and then remove the spare tire cover, or carpeted liner. Next we will need to remove the rear threshold. To remove the rear threshold, we will remove the two push pin fasteners first. Now we will go ahead and set the threshold aside and starting on the driver's side remove the three push pin fasteners and one cargo hook that secured the carpeted liner on the driver's side. Once we remove the fasteners, we will set them aside and then remove the inner panel carpeted liner. more

Today on our 1985 Chevrolet Monte Carlo well be installing the Draw Tite four pole hard wire kit, including circuit tester, part number 18252. To begin with well need to open the trunk of the vehicle. Now, over here on the left hand side, or the drivers side, youll see theres a bundle of wires. Theres a red wire, a dark green wire, a yellow wire, a brown wire and a light green wire. Weve gone ahead and used our tester and found that the three colors that well be using out of this bundle of wires is the yellow wire for the passengers side, or right side turn and brake, the dark green wire, which is for the drivers side turn and brake, and the brown wire, which is for the running lights. As youll notice, those colors match exactly with our four pole harness. more

All right, today on this 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, we're going to install part number 41157 from Hopkins. This is the Endurance 5th Wheel gooseneck, 90 degree wire harness. All right, first thing we do is go ahead and find a location in the truck bed to install this. In this case, we're going to be right behind the taillight, below the stake pocket about 3/4 of the way down to the bed. Once we know where we're going to put our connector, we'll go ahead and drill out a pilot hole. We're going to drill out a 1/4 inch hole first, then go back at it with our hole saw. The hole saw we are using will be 2 and 1/8 inches. more

Today on our 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, we will be installing the Bargman 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90 degree Wiring Harness with 7-Pole plug, part number 50-97-410. To begin our install we will first locate where were going to mount the 7-Pole plug. Here on the driver side bed behind the wheel well is a great location. Now well go ahead and drill out a hole large enough to fit the 7-Pole connector. The size will be indicated in the instructions. Now with our hole cut, well go ahead and feed the wiring harness down into the cutout hole being careful not to cut the wire on the sharp edges along our cutout. Now with the wire fed underneath, well go ahead and center up the 7-Pole plug against the sheet metal of the side of the pickup bed and use the self-tapping screws to secure it. more

Today on our 2008 Chevrolet Silverado we'll be installing the Hopkins Endurance Fifth Wheel Goose Neck 90 degree wiring harness with seven-pole plug, part number 41157. To begin our install we'll first go ahead and find the mounting location for our new seven-pole connector in the pickup bed. Now we've located it we'll go ahead and draw out a pilot hole.Then using our hole saw we'll go ahead and open it up to the final size as per the instructions. Now with our hole in the bed created well go ahead and get underneath the vehicle, take the wiring harness and feed it up through the hole we just cut out. Next we'll get back into the pickup bed, take our seven-pole plug and connect it to the wiring harness.Quick tech tip: before you make this connection I recommend you use the dielectric grease provided with the install kit to put it over the terminal connections. This will help to assist in keeping out moisture and corrosion. more

To do this, we want to make sure that we have the tab pushed in. This allows us to twist the socket and pull it away from the bumper for easy removal. Once we have that established we'll go ahead and drill a 3/4 inch pile hole first.Then we'll follow up with a holes saw using a diameter of 2-1/8 inches. We'll go ahead and drill through the bed liner and the bed. more

Today on this 2010 Chevy Malibu, well be installing the Tow Ready T1 vehicle wiring harness, part number 118450.To start, well need to open up the rear cargo or trunk. Then well go ahead and take the spare tire cover and push it forward, clearing the lip of the rear threshold.Next well pull up on the rear threshold, unlocking it from its mounting position. Next well need to remove the fastener securing the carpeting behind the drivers side taillight assembly. There are two cargo hooks, theyll need to be unscrewed and two pushpin fasteners that will have to pop out here on the drivers side.Then well go ahead and fold the carpeting out of the way exposing the three plastic wing nuts that secure the taillight assembly in place. Well remove these three wing nuts. Now well go ahead and remove the taillight assembly, simply popping it out of position. more

Today on this 2013 Chevrolet Silverado we're going to install part number PK11893-11932. Our first step is to go ahead and install the wires to the socket that will eventually go into the back of the seven pole connector. We'll go ahead and install the wires as follows according to the instructions. Our wires just push into place and the individual sockets are labeled, so number one will get the red wire, number two will get the white wire, number three will get the blue wire, and four will get the green wire. We're going to skip to number seven, the yellow wire, and put that in the number seven socket, that way we'll have room. Five will have the black wire and socket six will have the brown wire. more

Today on our 2007 Chevy Silverado we'll be installing the Bargman fifth wheel goose neck 90 degree wiring harness, part number 50-97-410. First we'll go ahead and select a location for mounting our new seven pole connector. Here in the truck bed on the drivers side just behind the wheel well is a great spot. Before we drill out the large hole we'll go ahead and use a smaller bit to create a pilot hole then check underneath to make sure we have plenty of room to feed our wiring inside once we drill it out. Now that we've done our checks we'll go ahead and drill it out using the larger bit recommended in the instructions. Now with the larger hole drilled out we'll go ahead and take the end of our wiring and feed it through the hole and down underneath our vehicle. more

Today on this 2012 Chevrolet Sonic, were going to install part number, 118555 from Tow Ready. First thing we need to do is go ahead and open up the trunk and remove the threshold panel. To remove our threshold we need to remove the liner at the bottom and then well pull out the four plastic rivets. Then well pull them straight from the bottom, you loosen it up, and then pull from the top. Now go ahead and remove the plastic rivets from our liner going towards the corners, towards the wiring for the taillights. Okay we have our driver side loosened up and well repeat the same process over on the passenger side. more

Today, on our 2012 Chevy Silverado well install the Pollak Twist-In 7 pole connector, part number pk11916. First, before we can install the connector well need to remove the manufactures wiring from the back of the blank connector. To remove the wiring well first need to pull back on the locking tab lock. Then, press on the locking tab and remove the wiring connector from the blank connector. Now, with the wiring removed go to t he outside of the bumper, press on the blank connector lock and then twist it and pull it out of its position. Next, well take the new Pollak 7 pole connector and install it into the bumper in reverse order of removing our blank connector. more

Today on our 2003 Chevy Cavalier well be installing the Draw Tite four pole wiring kit, part number 18252. First well need to remove the carpeting behind each of the taillights. To do this well remove the fastener behind each taillight and then we can pull the carpeting back. As you can see we can now access the wiring behind the taillight assembly. Note for this application it already has an aftermarket wiring setup to be towed behind an RV. However, it will not change how we make the connection with a new four pole wire, connecting to the wires on the manufacturers side of the wiring. more

Today on our 2011 Chevy Equinox, we'll install the Curt T-Connector 4-pole Wiring Harness, part number 56094. First, we'll open up the rear cargo door and then we'll remove the driver's side tail light assembly. To remove the tail light assembly, we'll remove the two fastener caps and set them aside and then remove the two fasteners. Now, we'll simply remove the rear tail light assembly by gently prying and pulling on the tail light assembly until it pops free from its alignment fasteners. Be careful not to break these alignment tabs as you remove it. Now, we can go ahead and remove the manufacturer's wiring from the tail light assembly. more

Then well free up the panel on the side to get access to our wiring. Once we pull the opening out well go ahead and look for our connector. more

Today on our 2013 Chevy Equinox, well be installing the Curt Four-pole Wiring Harness, part number 56094. First well need to remove the taillight assembly on the driver and passenger side. To remove the taillight assemblies, well first remove the caps, just a flat-bladed screwdriver, popping them free and setting aside. Then the two screw fasteners by removing them and setting aside. Now well carefully pop the rear taillight assembly out of place, being careful not to break the alignment tabs in the process. Now well go ahead and disconnect the manufacturers wiring by pressing on a locking tab and were removing it from the taillight assembly. more

Then well route the T connector with the green wire over to the passenger side and repeat the same process. Well split the connector in half and install the T connector. more

First, we'll need to open the rear cargo door then we'll remove the two fastener covers here on the driver's side. Next, we can go ahead and remove the two fasteners. It will allow us to remove the driver's side rear tail light assembly. We'll simply pop the tail light assembly free from the housing and being careful not to break the alignment tabs located underneath as you can see here. Next, we'll go ahead and press on the locking tab for the connector to tail light socket and remove the connector so we can set the tail light assembly aside. more

All right. Today on this 2009 Chevrolet Traverse, were going to install part number 118450 from Tow-Ready. Okay, our first step involved is open up the hatch and remove the taillights. After we remove the taillights, well go ahead and disconnect them from the wiring harness. Now we can go ahead and start installing the T1 harness. Well take the 4-pole harness and run it down between the body work and the bumper cover and out the bottom. more

Today, on a 2005 Chevrolet Impala, we are going to install part number 118512 to be tow ready. The first thing we need to do is go ahead and open up the trunk and get access to the wiring harness. We will have to remove the interior panels and the threshold to get to it. First off, we are going to go ahead and remove the plastic rivets from our cover right here. Next, we are going to remove these 2 fasteners here and here. Now, we are going to remove this fastener right here and this fastener here and then we can go ahead and remove the taillight. more

We can provide a hardware to attach it. Then well go ahead and take the factory wire harness on the vehicle and plug it into the back side of the connector. Today on our 2008 Chevy Uplander well be installing the Tow Ready T1 connector part #: 118396. To begin our installation well first need to open up the rear cargo door. Then well remove the two fasteners securing the driver side taillight assembly. As you pull and pry the taillight assembly away from the vehicle be careful not to break the alignment tabs that are hidden in behind the lens assembly. Next well go ahead and remove the manufactures connection to the taillight assembly. Simply press on the lock of the connector and pull it away from the assembly. more

Alright, today on a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 3500, were going to install part number 50-97-410. First thing to do is find a location in the bed to drill out for a triple connector. Were going to drill out in this location right here (drilling). Alright now, well take a wire, run it through the hole and out through the bottom of the truck (drilling). Next well disconnect the natural connector 4-7 pole that's inside the bumper. There's a little locking tab, that removes, the gray one that's kind of hidden so you're going to take some time taking it apart. more

Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Traverse were going to be installing the Tow-Ready T1 Connector part number 118450. To begin our installation, well first open up the rear access door and well need to remove the driver side taillight assembly. To do that, well take a small a flat bladed screw driver here and remove the fastener covers. Now we can go ahead and remove the two fasteners securing the taillight housing. As you remove the housing, be careful not to break the alignment tab. Now with the taillight assembly removed, we can see the alignment tab you need to be careful not to break off as we remove the assembly. more

Today on our 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt well be installing the Tow-Ready T1 connector part number 118407. After opening our trunk, well go ahead and remove the carpeting exposing the battery and the spare tire well. Now with the carpet removed, we can go ahead and unscrew the two clips that would hold a cargo net on either side. With those undone, we can then peel the carpet back here on the passenger side. With the carpet peeled back, well expose the connector here at the back of the taillight. We can then unplug the connector and plug in our T1 harness one side into the factory connector and the other on to the taillight connector. more

Today on our 1995 Chevrolet Camaro well be installing trailer harness part number 18252. And for opening the rear deck lid, well remove the driver side inside trim panel. With the trim panel removed, we can peel the carpeting away at the back of the trunk which will expose our wiring. Now on this particular vehicle, they make it really nice. Youll notice here that the factory wiring harness is the same colors as trailer 4-pole wiring. Well also need to locate a ground for our 4-pole harness which, in the Camaro, we can use one of the existing ground points here directly underneath the latch. more

There's a passenger side and I'll repeat the same process on the driver's side.Now with some applications there's going to be a foam insert covering these wires. You need to remove that foam insert then locate the tail light wiring connecter which is the top one for this application. We're going to disconnect the connection point on the tail light socket. more

Today on our 2007 Chevy Silverado were going to install the Hopkins wiring kit part #: 40975. Weve gone away and removed the spare tire because the wiring we need to connect to is just above it. This is the manufactures wiring connector, again, its located just above the spare tire for this application. Before we can connect it we need to go ahead and remove the clip from the wiring and then remove the cap to the 7 pole plug, press on the lock and remove the 7 pole cap. Next lets go ahead and mount our new bracket and install our 7 way which well be fastening with the self-tapping screws that are provided. So first were going to go ahead and locate where we want to install our bracket and then Ill put a couple of marks to the bracket attachment points just to help me keep me lined up as I install them. more

Alright, today on this 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier, were gonna install part number 18252 which is our 4-Pole wire harness.This wire harness has to be hardwired into the car and to do that we have to get access to the wiring, which will be on the inside of the trunk. And well have to access both tail lights. Were gonna undo our tie down right here and pull back the carpet and these are the wires that well be attaching to. The yellow will be our left turn, brown will be our running light and then well use the sheet metal here for our ground. Lets go ahead and install our ground first.To wire our harness were gonna had a small ring terminal and use a self-tacking screw to go into our sheet metal. Well double check our wirings. more

First thing we do is go ahead and remove the bottom panel here and the threshold. Now the threshold pops up pretty easy from the back side here but many of the tool from the other side to pop it up. Now, the port is located underneath here behind this gray component and in this case we are going to go ahead and listen up this panel on the inside here. Today on this 2011 Chevy Silverado were going to install the tow ready 5th wheel Gooseneck 7 way tow harness extension part number 20110. Before we can begin making any installations, we need to locate where we are going to mount our 7 pole connection in the bed. This will fit to the sheet metal of the bed and then make a connection with our wire. Were going to mount our 7 pole connector on this area here, so first what were going to use is a small drill bit, go ahead and make my hole and then check the area to make sure that I'm not going to run into any obstruction. Im just going to leave my drill bit sitting there so I can then look from underneath and verify that there are no obstructions and then well drill it out to our two inch hole. All right thats for double checking I know were good, so now we go ahead and drill out to our two inch hole. more
