Rob here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the Timberen suspension enhancement systems, for our Ford F-53 chassis motor home.Now motor homes can be great. You can take a lot of trips, spend time with our family. See a lot of places that we've never seen before. But one thing that nobody really talks about when it comes to motor homes, is how bad they handle, and how much sway they really have.For a lot of times we're driving down the road, a gust of wind may come, or a truck driving down the highway, it's going to start pushing us around. Because let's face it, there's a lot of area for wind to catch.That can be very scary going down the road in such a big vehicle, and not feeling like you have control. And our Timberens are going to alleviate a lot of that feeling.We're going to feel a lot more stable, and under a lot more control of our motor home, because it's going to brace everything, and we're not going to have such a mushy feeling.So here's what are Timberens look like once we have them installed. more

SumoSprings Rebel Front Axle Helper Springs Installation - 2017 Thor Hurricane Motorhome- Video
Today on our 2017 Thor Hurricane, we're going to be installing Sumo Springs Rebel Custom helper springs for the front axle. These front suspension enhancements will help provide you with an overall more comfortable and safer driving experience. They're going to absorb some of the impacts on the road, making it easier to maintain straight line of the vehicle. These are really going to help supplement our factory suspension when we're either carrying a lot of weight, or towing a lot of weight.Now our airbags are going to help with a few different things. Not only are they going to help prolong the life of our factory suspension, they're also going to help with how our vehicle steers and brakes, because they're actually going to help evenly distribute what weight we're carrying across all four tires of our vehicle. Whenever we're hauling a heavy load with our Durango, whether it's a trailer or we have the back full of passengers, pets, and all sorts of gear, you'll notice that the back end's going to drop down. Well, that's putting a lot of strain and stress on our rear suspension, not to mention it's actually affecting the front, because when the back end goes down, it'll pull the front end up, which is going to misalign our headlights, cause some rear tire wear issues, and if they're not contacting the road as well, which means our steering and brake needs can be diminished as well. We're gonna take a look at, I'm gonna show you how to install the Firestone Coil-Rite Air Helper Springs.So all right that's what it looks like when they're installed. These are gonna add extra support for our rear suspension when we're carrying heavy loads.There's two ways to do it. You can mount these so you can individually inflate them for uneven loads, or you can run them to one valve buy purchasing a T fitting to where you can air both bags up at the same time.So they're gonna be constructed with an elastic polyurethane so they're gonna be very durable and have a weight load capacity of 500 pounds up to 1,000 pounds. However, that's not going to increase the weight carrying capacity of the vehicle.We're gonna have a psi rating of 5 psi up to 35 psi, and that's gonna be per bag. As far as the installation goes, it's pretty simple and straightforward. more

But one thing that a lot of people don't talk about and don't think about is the suspension and how their motorhome is going to drive.Here at etrailer.com, we see a lot of the issues of customers coming in complaining that their motorhome feels like it's rolling, it's got a lot of body roll, and just not all that stable going down the road. And we can see in our motorhome, there's quite a bit of space for wind to catch the side. We're basically driving a giant windscreen going down the highway. So we're fighting that wind, pushing the steering wheel back and forth, which eventually can get very tiring and not very much fun once we get to our location.So we're gonna take our motorhome out on our test course and see how it handles before we put our suspension upgrades on.As I'm driving through our bump course here, I can definitely feel each time I hit a bump, whether it's a solid bump and the front end's coming up and coming back down and bouncing really hard, or if it's alternating bumps to where we're getting a lot of body roll back and forth. more

Basically this is gonna give us a couple different benefits. It's going to allow us to level out our vehicle front to back. A lot of times whenever you weigh down the back of your vehicle that's going to mess with the geometry of your tires in the front, so then as you weigh it down it's gonna bring the front up a little bit. Our steering and handling can be a little bit off, we don't feel like we have as much control, our headlights can start to point up and overall the ride quality suffers as well.This is going to alleviate that problem. more

Firestone Ride-Rite Rear Axle Air Helper Springs Installation - 2017 Ram 2500- Video
Today on our 2017 Ram 2500 you're going to be taking a look at, I'm going to show you how to install the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs. Here on our test course you will notice on our left side of our screen as we go over the speed bumps with the factory suspension setup on our weight, we get a lot of up and down movement, which in turn puts a significant amount of strain on the suspension. On the right side of the screen you will see the new air bags installed. You will notice as we go over bumps the air bags will greatly reduce the strain on the factory suspension while providing a much safer ride, while leveling out your vehicle when loaded and prolonging the life of your factory suspension.Here on our slalom course with our factory setup, we'll see a lot of body roll when loaded. With the new air bags installed the ride feels much more solid and stable, while greatly reducing body roll. This is what our bag looks like when it's installed. more

Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement Installation - 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Today, on our 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're gonna be installing Timbren's rear suspension enhancement system. For comparison, here's our factor jounce bumper, and here's our replacement Timbren suspension enhancement.It's obvious to see here that the Timbren is much larger, so what this means is that it's going to engage sooner, so you're gonna be getting that suspension enhancement much more than you're gonna get it from this one. Additionally, the additional length is going to provide proportional enhancement depending on how much loads on it. The more it compresses, the more support it's gonna provide.This suspension enhancement system is gonna provide additional support when your vehicle's loaded down. When it's unloaded like it is now, it doesn't make any contact with our axle, so it's gonna ride just as it if was factory. When you've loaded it down, the spring will compress, getting stiffer the more it becomes compressed. more

Now, these are going to help support the suspension components in your vehicle to help you not only have a safer and more comfortable ride, but also to give you a little load-leveling capability. This is going to help you level your vehicle front to back, but also side to side since these can be inflated independently. It's going to improve your overall handling of your vehicle since it's going to remove sway or reduce sway, and also improve the steering and breaking performance.Since whenever you're typically loaded down, the back end of your vehicle is going to drop and the front is going to raise, that can change the geometry of your steering components and make your vehicle just a little harder to handle. So, this is going to bring everything back level. It also, again, is going to improve the leveling side to side so we don't have our vehicle leaning one way or the other. more

Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Rear Air Helper Springs Installation - 2017 Ford F-150- Video
Today in our 2017 Ford F-150, we're going to be installing Air Lift's Load Lifter 5,000 Air Helper Springs to the rear axle and this is what our airbags are going to look like when they're installed.They're going to sit between the frame and your axle to help support the loads in the back of your vehicle.It's going to be a double convoluted shape with two separate chambers. It's going to be a dual-ply fabric and have roll plates on each side to provide you with good off-road support.They provide up to 5,000 pounds of load carrying capacity. Now, this doesn't increase the amount of capacity your vehicle can carry, but it's how much it can help support.You can adjust this between five and 100 PSI to get the proper lift you need to help bring your vehicle back to it's stock ride height. Five PSI, being an unloaded vehicle, and 100 PSI being the maximum load you can put on.Included with your kit, you'll receive manual inflation valves. What's nice about this is you'll receive two, one for each side, so if you have an uneven load in the back of your vehicle, you can adjust them independently from one another to bring your vehicle back to level.So, we're got our work truck here with all the tools and everything that we need loaded up to do the job. We'll check our ride height, we're at about 37 and a half inches. more

Be sure to see eTrailer's fit guide for your application.Our springs are designed for a wide variety of vehicles. They're going to fit most passenger vehicles, vans, some light duty pickup trucks and motor homes. Whenever you haul a heavy load, have a lot of equipment in your vehicle or have a heavy trailer hooked up to it, it's going to cause the back end to sag down which is putting a lot of strain on your rear suspension, not to mention you're taking the contact off the front tires and misalignment your headlights. Today on our 2018 Ford F-150, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs for the Rear Axle, part number AL89284.As you can see, once we add our load to the back of the bed of the truck, we have a significant squat in the back, which is actually going to raise up the front end. That's going to cause a lot of different problems. The back end we're putting a lot of strain and stress on the suspension. We're not going to have as much travel as we normally do, and then on the front, it's actually pulling the front end up causing a teetering effect, so our headlights are misaligned. Our tires are not making as much contact as they should, which is going to diminish our steering and braking.Here's what our airbag looks like once we have it installed. It's going to fit in between the frame and the axle and provide us the support we need whenever we have a heavy load like a trailer, fifth wheel, gooseneck, or a heavy load in the bed.Now, with our airbags installed, we actually got our truck back to where it should be with only 40 PSI. more
