Rhino Rack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Toyota Highlander- Video

Hi there, Highlander owners! Today, on our 2019 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be taking a look at Rhino-Rack's hanging style two-bike rack.This bike rack will hold your bike in place using the frame. There are three points of contact that holds it in place. There's two on top for your top beam, and then one for the vertical beam here that will keep it from swaying back and forth, to prevent bike-to-bike contact as well as bike-to-rack contact.It features grooved cradles, which gives you a channel for your brake cables to sit down in-between. So, that way, when you're going down the road, your cables aren't scratching up the bottom of your frame.When you're ready to remove your bike, simply pull down on the rubber straps, and release them from the hooks. Then you can pick your bike up, pull it off, and you're ready to hit the trail.You'll want to keep in mind that when your bike rack is installed on your vehicle it is going to add to the length of your vehicle. This is important to remember when you pull into your garage, before you shut the door, or if you're in a parking lot where you have any tight maneuvers you need to make.From the edge of our rear bumper to the furthest point, it's going to be about 26 inches; from the ground to the closest point, it's going to be about 17 inches; and the closest point of our rack to our rear bumper is going to be here, at about seven inches. more

Reese Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Toyota Highlander- Video

Hi there Highlander owners, today on your 2019 Toyota Highlander we're going to be taking a look at Reese's Explore bike rack. This bike rack is a hanging style bike rack that'll hold up to three bikes. It secures the bikes in place using the cradles here at the top and then secures it at two points using the hook and loop fasteners on each side. The cradles that your bikes will sit in is rubberized, which will give it extra grip to keep it in place and there's a channel located in the bottom for your brake cables to go to keep those from rubbing up against your frame, causing any scratches or abrasions. When you're ready to take your bike off, simply pull the hook and loop fasteners loose, feed them out of the eyelets, and then you can just lift your bike off.You'll notice here with our Highlander if we try to open the door, it will contact our bike rack there. So we'll go ahead and shut the door and tilt it away. more

This rack holds your bike in place on your top bar at two locations using the rubberized straps, and one on your vertical bar, using a rubberized strap as well. The one here at the vertical bar is to help prevent movement back and forth, to prevent bike to bike contact, as well as prevent bike to rack contact.Each cradle's going to have grooves in it. These grooves are designed to let your brake cables fit in them so that way there's clearance so that way they're not rubbing up against your frame causing any scratches or abrasions. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2018 Toyota Highlander- Video

Today in our 2018 Toyota Highlander, we're going to be test fitting Thule's Hitching Post Pro 4 bike hanging carrier. Our bike is held in place with three straps, two for the top of the frame and one on the vertical shaft to keep it from rattling, preventing any bike to bike contact as well as bike to rack contact.The cradles where our bike sit have grooves in the bottom and this is for your brake cables so that way they'll fit down in the groove and they won't rub or cause any abrasions to the bottom of your bike frame. The straps are adjustable using the multiple holes and they're easy to take on and off. You simply just pull it off the loop and if you're putting it on, you simply pull it down on the loop. We'll now take all of our straps loose, both on top and one on the side and we can remove our bike.Simply lift up and slide the bike off and now you're ready to ride. We'll give you an idea of how far it sticks out. more

Hey everyone, today we've got a 2017 Toyota Highlander, and we're going to do a test with the Thule Camber two-bike hanging style rack. Most hanging style racks can allow you to carry two bikes to and from your destination.It's going to grip your bike at three different points. We're going to have two straps on the top tube right here, securing it into the cradles. We're also going to have a anti-sway cradle with the strap through it, securing at the seat post tube. Today on our 2014 Toyota Tacoma, we're going to be doing a test on the Thule Helium Pro hanging-style two bike rack. So I've already got it in place here, just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to work with our Tacoma. Now, right away, one of the unique things about this bike rack is that it is motor home approved. So you can carry it on the back of your motor home and it's not going to suffer from damage from vibration that happens at the rear of RVs during transport.Now, with that being said, it's also one of the only ones out there that's approved that can be tilted away. You do have to do that without the bikes loaded, but having it tilt away is going to gain us access to other accessories that might be mounted to our motor home's bumper, our spare tire, even our ladder to access our roof. Today, on our 2014 Toyota Tacoma, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Thule Apex XT hanging style two bike rack.As you can see, I've already got it installed here just to give you a good idea what it looks like and how it's gonna work with our Tacoma.Now, right away what's unique about this bike rack is that it is also motor home approved, so if you have a motor home, it's gonna be nice and solid, excuse me, and it's gonna be great for carrying two bikes on the back of your motor home.Now, with that being said, it's also one of the only bike racks out there that tilts away that is motor home approved, so for our motor home, we can tilt it away to gain access to our ladder, our spare tire or any other accessories we may have mounted to our bumper. When it's mounted to our Tacoma, we can tilt it away to access our tailgate area.But, to tilt it away, you need to have the bike removed, so just keep that in mind and I'll show you how that works here in a little bit.But, the way it holds our bikes is with three points of contact. We've got two straps that come over our top tube and the one that goes around our seat post tube. Now, the one that goes around our seat post tube is gonna help prevent some of that sway during transport, prevent bike to bike contact, bike to bike rack contact and bike to vehicle contact.Also, another bike, excuse me, another interesting thing that this bike rack has is a cable lock built into the mast. That way we can leave our bikes unattended and not have to worry about them being stolen.Let's go ahead and take our bike off though. To do so, we'll push on the little tab and guide that strap out.We'll set that aside. more

Rather than the traditional hanging style where you have two arms that are parallel to the ground and kind of horizontal. You're going to have two arms that are vertical and hold your bike at more of an angle than they used to. The advantage to this is that you're only going to need to have two straps to secure your bike. Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner, we're going to be a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 4 Platform Style Four-Bike Rack for Fat Bikes. That's part number HR1400Z-FB.I've already got it loaded up just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to hold our bikes. Now, not only does it hold fat bikes, but it's going to hold your standard bikes as well. In this kit, you're going to get a total of 16 cradles. You're going to get eight fat tire cradles, which will hold fat tires up to 5" wide, and eight standard cradles, which will hold standard tires up to 3" wide.Now, right away, even though it can hold all these bikes and a wide variety of bikes, you're going to be able to tilt this bike rack away so we can get into that rear hatch. The way that's done is you want to remove the snapper pin here, and keep in mind when all of the bikes are loaded up, it is quite heavy. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Toyota Sienna- Video

Today on 2015 Toyota Sienna we're going to be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE four bike platform rack, part number HR1400.With the bike installed, let's take a close look and show off some of the features. To start, like most platform racks, you can tilt this away from your vehicle. I'm going to come in here and remove this pin and clip like so and then we're going to pull on this pin right here and let it tilt away. However, you are going to find that when you try to access your trunk with it tilted away, the trunk does make contact with the bike that you have installed so you won't be able to access your trunk when you have bikes installed.To tilt it back, just pull it up til it clicks then we'll go and replace our pin and clip. Sometimes pulling up on the back of the rack will help out with that process.The trays are adjustable just by loosening and tightening this hand knob right here you can slide it along the tray or you can slide the tray along the bike rack to accommodate bikes which are different lengths. Our bike has three different points where it's secured. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner HR200Z-FB- Video

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider 2-Bike Rack for Fat Bikes, that's part number: HR200Z-FB. I've already got it loaded up just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to hold our bikes.Now not only does it hold fat bikes, but it's going to hold your standard bikes too. It'll hold fat tires up to five-inches wide and standard tires up to three-inch wide. It's going to hold a wide variety of bikes. Your women's bikes, children's bikes and bikes with alternative frame styles.It holds them in place with a frame hook going over the top tube, puts down pressure into the wheel cradles. The frame hooks themselves are rubber-coated, so we don't have to worry about them harming or scratching that top tube. more

Today, on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner, we're going to be doing a test fit on a Hollywood Racks Trail Rider Platform-Style 2-Bike Rack. That's Part #HR200Z. I've already got it loaded up with the bike installed, as you can see, just to give you a good idea of what it looks like and how it's going to hold our bikes. As you can see, it holds our bikes by their top tube. The frame hook goes over our top tube, puts down pressure into the cradles, and then our bike is in position. Not a bad way to hold your bikes and get to the trails. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 Toyota 4Runner HR1450Z-85-FB- Video

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner, we're going to be doing a test fit on a Hollywood Rack Sport rider, SC2, platform style, two bike rack for fat bikes with cargo carrier. That's part number HR1450Z-85-FB.Now, not only does it carry fat bikes, but it's going to carry your standard bikes, too. So with this kit, you're going to get your fat bike wheel cradles and your standard bike wheel cradles. The fat bike cradles are going to hold tires up to five inches wide, and your standards are going to hold tires up to three inches wide.Now right away, this bike rack is way different than other bike racks, because, for one, you can carry cargo with your two bikes. What's nice about this, is with everything loaded, you can also tilt it away from that rear hatch to remove other gear. Now, when it's all loaded up it's definitely recommended to use a second person, because it can be a bit heavy, but since we've just got one bike on here, I'll go ahead and show you how this is done.We'll remove the snapper pin here, and I'm going to lift up on the carrier slightly, just so that's easy, then pull out on that quick release pin. more

Today on our 2012 Toyota Forerunner we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Sportrider SE2 Platform Style Two Bike Rack, that's part number HR1450Z.So I've already got it set up on the Forerunner just to give you a good idea on what it looks like and how it's gonna hold our bikes. Now right off the bat, I'd like to mention that with this bike rack, you actually have a few options. Though it's sold as a two bike rack, you can pick it up as a four bike rack, which adds a two bike extension allowing you to carry a total of four bikes. You can also pick up an optional cargo carrier. That way you can carry two bikes and some extra gear on the back of our your Forerunner.Now with this bike rack in all those features, excuse me, all those accessories, everything loaded up, you can tilt it away to get inside that rear hatch. The way that's done is, you remove the snapper pin here, I'm gonna lift up on the bike rack slightly. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Toyota Sienna HR1450Z-85- Video

Speaker 1: Today on our 2015 Toyota Sienna, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 Two Bike Rack with a cargo carrier attached, part number HR1450Z-85. Now this bike rack does have a cargo carrier attached, like I said. It is removable, if you don't really want to use the cargo carrier but you also want to use your bike rack. All we have to do is take out this pin right here and then it just slides right out. You also do get a sleeve with the kit so that if you don't want to use the bike rack but you want to use the cargo carrier, the sleeve goes on the end of the shank of the cargo carrier, and then you can use it for your 2" hitch receiver.How it tightens down is this handle right here. Once we tighten this handle down like so, that pulls on the pin back here, pulls it backwards to jam it in there and then take out the unnecessary rattling. more

Speaker 1: Today, on our 2017 Toyota 4Runner, we're going to be doing a test fit on the rockymounts BackStage 2 Bike Platform Rack. Part Number RKY10002.Now with one of the bikes installed, let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. One thing that's really cool about this bike rack, is you have two different ways to access your trunk.The first, is the tilt-away feature, which is pretty simple. What's nice is that this blue t-pin right here is at the bike of the back rack, so rather than with two bikes installed having to reach through to the front of it to pull a pin, we're just going to pull that blue t-pin and tilt it away like so.Now, we come to the trunk and you can open it up. As you can see, you do have a good amount of space right there. Now, we can get in and get whatever we might need. more
