Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2013 Ford Taurus- Video

Today we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Curt class three trailer hitch receiver on our 2013 Ford Taurus.This is what our hitch is gonna look like when it's installed. You can see, the only thing we can see is our receiver tube. Our cross tube is completely hidden behind our bumper fascia, so it's gonna maintain a nice clean look on the back of the vehicle.It's gonna be a class three hitch, two inch by two inch receiver tube opening. Today on our 2018 Ford Mustang we're going to be installing Draw-Tite's class I, 1.25 inch trailer hitch receiver.This is what our hitch is going to look like when it's installed. You are going to be able to see the receiver and the cross tube, but overall it's tucked up underneath so it shouldn't detract too much from the looks of the vehicle. It's a class I, 1.25 x 1.25 inch receiver, so it's going to be great for bike racks and cargo carriers and really light towing. It uses a 0.5 inch hitch pin and clip. One doesn't come included with this hitch, but you can pick one up here at etrailer.com. It features hoop style safety chain loops, which are going to be great because they have a large opening so it will accommodate just about every shape and style of safety chain.It features a 200 pound tongue weight, that's the force going down on top of the receiver, and a 2,000 pound gross towing capacity, that's how much you can pull behind it. more

Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2018 Ford Transit T250 C14012- Video

Today on our 2018 Ford Transit t250, you're gonna be taking a look at, let me show you how to install the Curt class 5 trailer hitch receiver.This is what our hitch looks like when it's installed. So you can see the cross tube is nice and high up behind the bumper. Maintaining a nice clean look on the back of the vehicle.It's gonna be a class 5 hitch, it's gonna be 2 inch by 2 inch, have a nice reinforced collar on your receiver tube, give you a little extra stability, hitch pin holes gonna be 5/8 inch in diameter. The hitch does not come with the hitch pin in clip, or we can find them here at etrailer.com, it's just a standard 5/8 inch hitch pin.You're gonna have plate style safety chain loops, they give you plenty of room for different size hooks. This hitch is gonna have a nice black powder coat finish, it's gonna resist any rust or corrosion.We're gonna have an 800 lb max ton weight, which is the downward pressure on the inside of the receiver tube, and an 8000 lb max trailer weight, which is the trailer plus the load included. You can use weight distribution with this, tongue weights going to go up to a 1000 lbs, trailer weights gonna go up to 10,000 lbs.I always recommend checking the owners manual of the vehicle, make sure the vehicle can withstand that amount of weight. more

Some of the cross tube is going to be visible underneath the bumper, but some of it's also going to be tucked up behind it.It is a Class 3 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube, so this is going to be great for all of your towing needs.The hole towards the front of the vehicle is going to be for a 5/8 inch hitch pin. Now, one doesn't come included with the hitch, but you can pick on up here at etrailer.com, part number PC3.The smaller hole just to the rear of your hitch pin hole is going to allow it to accommodate a J pin. A J pin has a small peg that will go in that hole. Press up against whatever accessories you may have inside your hitch, and take out any play and prevent any rattles from occurring.It features plate style safety chain loops. They have a large opening, so it will accommodate very large shanks very well. more

Now one of the common questions that we get on our website about people when they purchase a hitch and they wanna use it with a bike rack or a cargo carrier is that when you have that installed on your vehicle, will it affect your backup sensorsAnd the answer's yes. When something's in front of it, like your bike rack or your cargo carrier, when the vehicle's in reverse, the sensors will be going off at all times so you'll have an audible warning. In some vehicles, you'll have an alert message on the dash. But as soon as you put the vehicle back in drive and you're driving forward, you don't have to worry about any buzzing or any warning messages on the dash.Now one really nice feature about his hitch is that the only part visible underneath the vehicle is the actual receiver opening itself. more

Part number 24897.Here's what our hitch looks like installed. One thing you'll notice as you're standing behind the vehicle, this hitch is actually fairly well-hidden underneath it. The only part you really see is the inch and a quarter receiver hanging down on itself.Now, one question many of our customers have asked us in the past is that they're using a bike rack or a cargo carrier on their hitch, if their vehicle's equipped with back-up sensors, will it interfere with the sensors. The answer is yes. When you're backing up your vehicle with something on the hitch, and it's in front of the sensors, you will have the alarm going off at all times, but as soon as you put the vehicle in drive and you start driving away normally, the alarm will go off, and you'll have no warning messages on the dash, either.On the side of our receiver, you'll find our industry standard half inch diameter hitch pinhole. more

Here's what our hitch looks like installed. First thing you notice about this hitch, there's plenty of clearance around our receiver, making this a great hitch to use on bike racks and cargo carriers. Now, some of the questions that we get about this hitch from our customers is if they have the hands-free lift gate assist, where you kick your foot underneath the bumper, will the hatch still open The answer to that is yes, but you will have a slightly reduced area here around the receiver.Another question we get is if the vehicle's equipped for backup sensors like this, will the backup sensors be activated when there's a bike rack or cargo carrier on the hitch Answer to that is yes. If you have a bike rack or cargo carrier and it's blocking the sensors, the sensors will go off when the vehicle is in reverse, but reverse only. When you're driving down the road like normal in drive, you don't have to worry about any warning lights on the dash or listen to the beeping noise. more

This is a class II 1-1/4 by 1-1/4 inch receiver. It's going to be great for cargo carriers, bike racks, and light towing. It uses a 1/2 inch hitch pin and clip. Speaker 1: Today on this 2013 Ford Explorer, we're going to review and install the etrailer.com Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number E98867.This is what our hitch looks like when it's installed on our Explorer. First off, we have a 2" x 2" opening here, which is very popular for all kinds of accessories and ball mounts. Has a nice rounded collar around it for reinforcement, and also look back in receiver tube, you have a standard 5/8 diameter hitch pinhole, which will work great with your existing hitch pin or your favorite locking pin. For your safety chains on your trailer, you get this plate right here with the holes in it, so our safety chains work just like that.Overall quick view of our hitch, you notice it's constructed of a round tubing, and it stays below the bumper course but goes up as soon as possible behind the bumper and up into it's attachment points up on the frame. Some things to know about the weight rating on the hitch is that it's good for 400 pounds of tongue weight, which is the weight that pushes down on the hitch, and it's also good for 4,000 pounds pulling weight. Now, when you add a weight distribution assembly between your hitch and your trailer, the weight goes up to 500 pounds of tongue weight and 5,000 pounds of pulling weight.One final note is the finish of our hitch here is a powder coat black carbide finish, which is actually seems to me a little bit stronger than the other finishes on some other competitor hitches. more

Here's what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed. The cross tube is going to be completely hidden by the bumper, and all we're going to see is the receiver tube sticking out. It is a Class III hitch, which means it's going to give us that two inch by two inch receiver tube opening, which means we'll have a really wide variety of options when it comes to accessories. Best 2017 Ford Fusion Trailer Hitch- Video

Speaker 1: Today we're gonna be taking a look at the best hitch options for your 2017 Ford Fusion. One thing I do wanna mention right up front is if you have this Ford model Fusion, we are gonna be limited to one style hitch. Curt is gonna offer us a class two hitch for our Fusion sport model, and it's gonna have all the same weight ratings as our other Curt class two, but the only difference really is gonna be the mounting locations because of the aquatic exhaust in our sport. All the features and ratings on our Curt here are gonna be the same as our Curt for our sport model.So let's go ahead and take a closer look at our two other hitches and go over some of the differences. Up top here we have a Curt, which is gonna be a class two hitch, and then right below that we're gonna have a Draw-Tite, which is gonna be a class one.
