Troubleshooting Right Stop/Turn Circuit on Aluminum Trailer

Question:

I have a 2005 triton all aluminum trailer. The right turn signal and stop dont work even with a new light installed. Only the parking light part works. All wiring is concealed in aluminum tubing. Tested wires after plug on truck and they all tested with a test light correct. I think its the green wire for rt turn. All other lights work fine

It sounds like you have narrowed the problem down to being somewhere on the right stop/turn circuit (green wire) on the trailer. If you can use your circuit tester to test that circuit as close to the light assembly as possible to see if the light is getting voltage or not.

The other possible problem is that the ground of the assembly isn't sufficient. Make sure that the vehicle side and trailer side connectors are clean and free of corrosion inside and out. The main connector grounds should be attached to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces. The light grounds should also be attached to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces. If there is anything between a light ground and the metal trailer frame or if the trailer has an aluminum frame (like yours), tilt bed, or folding tongue, any of these things can interrupt the ground. Running jumper wires from the light grounds to the main trailer connector ground can help.

I attached a couple helpful FAQ articles to the right for you to check out.
