Does Drum Spin When Using Freewheel Feature On Dutton-Lainson 3,500 Hand Winch
Question:
when letting out the cable, does the freewheel feature allow the drum to spin without the handle and gearset turning, and if not, how hard is it to pull the cable out? Also will the 3-1/8 drum on the DL24844 fit on the DL14881 winch?

I spoke with my contact at Dutton-Lainson about the Two Speed Hand Winch, part # DL14881. They told me that this does freewheel when disengaged and the handle will turn as the cable is extended.
We do offer a replacement 3-1/8 inch drum that will fit the 3,500 lb Dutton-Lainson hand winches. The part number for this part is # DL304161-BK.
