Trailer Hitch Receiver and Bike Rack Recommendation for 2014 Ford Mustang Coupe
Question:
What about the Kuat racks? I'm now installing on a 2015 honda accord sedan. Just bought the hitch from you guys yesterday. Now trying to decide between Sherpa, NV, or T2.

When it comes to a trailer hitch receiver for your 2014 Ford Mustang, I recommend the Draw-Tite Class I Sportframe, # 24863. This custom fit hitch features bolt-on installation with no drilling or welding required.
The only hitch option for the 2014 Mustang Coupe is a Class I. Due to the low tongue weight capacity of the Class I hitch, both the bike rack and the hitch manufacturers both agree that no more than two bikes should be carried on a Class I hitch. Adding additional bikes would place too much weight too far away from the receiver opening and would exert enough leverage on the hitch that it could be damaged or the attachment points between the vehicle and the hitch could fail. This could result in the loss of the rack and the bikes during transport which would be very dangerous.
With this being said, in addition to a hitch mounted bike rack, I suggest transporting the remaining bikes on the roof of your Mustang. For the complete set-up I recommend the following:
Kuat Sherpa 2-Bike Rack, # SH12G, for your hitch mounted bike rack. This rack is equipped with ratcheting arms that securely grip the front wheels and lock to deter theft and makes no contact with the bike's frame.
Yakima Q Tower Roof Rack which consists of part numbers # Y00409, # Y00678, and # Y00124.
Yakima FrontLoader Wheel Mount Bike Carrier, # Y02103, for a roof mounted bike carrier that holds almost any size of bike.
