Question:

do side vents pressureize trailers and keep dust out

The vents we offer for an enclosed trailer like part # 9139 are designed to allow air into the trailer. None of the vents we offer create a pressurized condition in the trailer and none are equipped with an air filtration system to keep dust out.

Some of the features on the vents like # 9139 allow you to adjust the amount of airflow in the trailer with a butterfly valve mounted on the inside of the vent which would be operated from inside the trailer.

Other trailer vents, like part # WHMAV2-WAVT2 are designed to provide a constant flow of air, and are louvered on one side so you can adjust it when installing for the best airflow and to help prevent water from getting in.

When installing any of these vents I recommend either the sheet metal screws like part # 31071, or wood screws like part # 30587.

We also offer Sealant # 0160297 to use when installing the vents to seal up the seams and joints where needed.

The Polar Vent Set # 9139 is probably your best bet since the circular unit can be adjusted to limit air flow and the angled design of the rectangular piece will do a really good job of keeping unwanted dust and debris out.
