Can Electric Brakes Be Used on a Boat Trailer
Question:
Hi, I have a boat trailer that does not have brakes of any kind. I would like to add brakes and was wondering if I can add electric brakes? Do you sell any that will survive a dunk in the lake? Thanks,

Water and electricity don't mix well. I have a solution for you, but you would not want to use electric brake assemblies on a boat trailer. It's just not a good idea.
A better option would be electric over hydraulic brakes. This is the best of both worlds. You get the stopping power of hydraulic brakes plus the adjustability of electric brakes. AND this system can work great on a boat trailer since the hydraulic parts are the only parts that go under water.
I attached an FAQ article to the right that details exactly what is needed to install this style of brakes on a trailer
