I have a solution for you. The hitch that we choose for your 2012 BMW 328i wagon will depend on what you will use it for. If you want a hitch to carry bikes or cargo, but never foresee using it to tow a small trailer, you would choose the Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" # SH44VR. If you do foresee towing a trailer at some point, you should choose the Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ Towing Kit - Custom Fit - 2" # SH88VR which is the # SH44VR plus the towing kit.
If you only purpose is carrying bike, you would also have an option of a trunk-mounted bike rack. If your only purpose is carrying cargo, you would also have the option of a roof rack.
For trunk-mounted bike rack, I have included a link to the right to the trunk mount bike racks that will fit your vehicle. I recommend the OutWay # TH45JV. I have an older version of this rack and it is by far the easiest rack to install and use that I have come across. I have linked a video review for you.
For cargo, a roof rack would be the way to go. There are 3 possible roof configurations for your 328i wagon so I have included a link to the roof rack main page for your vehicle. You will just need to select the roof that you have to see the roof racks that will fit.
