Trailer Brake Lamps Don't Light When Manual Brake Switch of Hopkins Agility Brake Controller is Used

Question:

I have the Hopkins Agility trailer brake controller on a 2014 Gmc Yukon. The unit shows that everything is working right. The trailer brakes come on like they should. My question is, when i mash the manual button shouldnt my trailer brake lights come on? The brakes work, just no brake lights. I read on another post where the truck light will not come on when using the manual button, but nothing was mentioned about the trailer brake lights.

Whether or not the brake controller manual brake switch will cause the trailer brake lights to illuminate will depend on which model of brake controller you have. Some controllers like the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885 or the P3 # 90195 will send some voltage out on the red wire when the manual brake switch is activated, which causes the brake lamps on the vehicle and the trailer to illuminate.

The fact that the brake lights don't illuminate with the manual brake switch doesn't indicate a problem with the controller, it's just how the controller is designed.
