Whenever any type of adapter is used to couple a trailer and truck with different towing systems there will be some loss of ride quality. The additional connection points introduced by adapters will be felt under certain driving conditions and some degree of chucking and jarring is unavoidable.

Your best bet for long-term safety and towing ride quality is to avoid adapters altogether by using a replacement pin box from Reese called a Goose Box. Reese offers a direct bolt-on replacement Air Ride pin box, part # RP94720, that replaces your Lippert 1621. This will allow you to directly couple the trailer to the goose neck ball in your truck without any additional connection points that can introduce slop and play in the system.

Apart from the improved safety and ride quality, the Goose Box also reduces the stresses applied to the trailer's frame.

The article linked to your right will explain that various types of adapters available, including both the Andersen and the Reese Goose Box, and their benefits.
