Will Curt Trailer Hitch 13086 Fit a 1981 Toyota Pickup Truck

Question:

I have being searching for a hitch for a 1981 Toyota 4wd Pickup with no luck. It seems that the listings only go back to 1984. Do you know if this Curt 13086 will work on my older vehicle! I have not been able to find any clear diagrams with dimensions of the width of frame between years or the spacing of the holes that are used for attaching the hitch. My frame rails have the large forward hole, two that hold bumper and the large hole on bottom of frame. Looking at the diagram of the 13086 it appears to have same hole patterns three along the rail and one for the bottom. My frame width is 41inch outside to outside. Front 1x3/4inch hole is 13inch from front of hole to end of rail. Bumper bolts are at 6.5inch and 3.5inch from end of rail. Bottom 1inch round hole is 2inch from front of hole to end of rail. Left rail has tail pipe hanger only 5/8inch forward of the 1x3/4inch hole. Hope this is enough information for you to be able to answer my question. Thank you.

Curt trailer hitch # 13086 only goes back to 1984 Toyota pickups so it is not a confirmed fit for your 1981 model.

I spoke with Curt at the width between the mounting side plates is 41-1/4 inches.

From the center of the rear most hole (on the vehicle) to the middle hole is a little over 3-3/16 inches. And from the center hole to the furthest hole is 8 inches on center.

Since Curt doesn't have the rail measurements of the truck I can only get the bolt hole spacing and width of the hitch.
