V Mounting Brackets to Convert Conventional Trailer into Pontoon Boat Trailer

Question:

I need 4 of your V mounting brackets for a pontoon boat. I also need the mounting hardware. U bolt style if you have it. I am trying to convert a conventional boat trailer to a pontoon trailer but dont want to give up the conventional completely because I have a boat that its used for. The trailer is approximately 8 feet in length. The Pontoons are 15 ft with a deck area of 12 feet. I have the necessary boards for bunking and the trailer will be used just to pull the boat out of the lake and store on my property. The most the trailer would be used maybe 20 miles to get the boat serviced. The boat frame measures. The frame is 4foot x7foot with a 6foot tongue. the frame is 2x3inch box frame.

The V mounting brackets that you could use to convert your conventional trailer to a pontoon boat trailer are the CE Smith V-Wing Bolster Bracket, # CE26244G.

When it comes to mounting hardware for these brackets, I recommend using a screw and washer like our 3/8 Inch Stainless Steel Hex Lag Screw, # FA74521, and Stainless Steel Washer, # FA0152661.

I have attached a link to our U-bolts for boat trailers. Since the mounting slot on the V bracket would typically run parallel with the trailer frame, it may be difficult to secure the bracket with a U-bolt.

Although the V brackets can be used to convert your existing trailer to one that can carry a pontoon boat, I can not guaranty that your trailer is capable of hauling a pontoon boat with 15 ft tubes. Everything that I have read states that the size of the trailer must match the size of the boat. I recommend checking into this before attempting the conversion.

We should have everything you need to make this conversion. The answer above from Leah does a pretty good job of laying everything out - is there anything specific that you have questions on?
