Recommended Transom Tie-Downs For 4,500 Lb Boat

Question:

I have a 23foot open bow boat that weighs about 4500 lbs. will this strap work from a load stand point? If not what would you recommend for a bow tie down strap?

I spoke with my contact at BoatBuckle about the weight capacity of their tie-down straps.

They told me that the break strength is what they use when determining the best tie-downs for a boat to use.

For your 4,500 lb boat I recommend the BoatBuckle G2 Retractable, Ratcheting Transom Tie-Downs, part # IMF08893. These each have a break strength of 2,500 lbs so that gives you a total of 5,000 lbs. These are ratcheting straps that measure 2 inches wide by 43 inches long. These come with the hardware needed to attach the tie-downs to the trailer frame. They also have vinyl-coated S-hooks that help to protect the boat finish.
