Will Rapid Hitch Ball Mount Kit Fit 2007 Mitsubishi Pajero Towing Trailer Requiring 50mm Hitch Ball

Question:

Im pretty sure that that the AM 3410 will suit my needs. My tow vehicle is a Mitsubishi Pajero NS model 12 month 2007 with a factory tow bar, tow capacity 2700 kgs with a permissible downward pressure of 270 kgs. I have purchased and am soon to receive a caravan that has an AL-KO coupling model AKS 3004 which requires a 50mm ball I notice youre web site only deals with imperial sizes. I wouldnt need a double ball and it would need to have a rated capacity of 3000kg. Thanks for your help with my inquiry. Regards,

Since you mention that you do not need the double hitch ball option, my recommendation would be to go with an adjustable ball mount like the Convert-A-Ball, # TK5007, on your 2007 Mitsubishi Pajero. This ball mount offers a 5,000 pound capacity which would be sufficient since it exceeds the towing capacity of your vehicle.

In addition to the adjustable ball mount, you would also need a hitch ball, pin, and clip. Although we do offer a 50 mm hitch ball, # 63912, it has a 3,500 pound capacity which is far less than what you are looking for. In this case I would go with one of our 2 inch hitch balls, like part # 63845, which is extremely close in diameter to the 50 mm ball that is required to tow your caravan. For a pin and clip you could use part # PC3 quantity of 2.

The Rapid Hitch Adjustable Aluminum Ball Mount Kit with 2 Chrome Hitch Balls, # AM3410, that you mentioned will work with your Pajero but comes with the additional 2-5/16 inch hitch ball that you expressed is not needed.

I have included links to additional ball mount options, adjustable and non-adjustable, for a 2 inch receiver and 2 inch hitch balls as well as an article that covers how to choose the correct ball mount.
