Hitch Receiver Mount 4-Bike Carrier for 1-1/4 Inch Hitch on a 2013 Chevy Traverse

There are 2-bike platform bike carriers that will fit a 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch but the 4-bike carriers only fit 2 inch trailer hitches. A 4-bike platform carrier is going to extend far from the vehicle and will be heavier than a hanging bike rack. That would but too much stress on a 1-1/4 inch hitch.

What you could do is replace the 1-1/4 inch hitch with a 2 inch hitch such as # 75528 for your 2013 Chevy Traverse. But if the 1-1/4 inch hitch is welded on, you will not be able to replace it with a 2 inch hitch.

If you do not want to or cannot replace the hitch then you will want to look at hanging bike racks that hold 4 bikes. The Hitching Post Pro, # TH934XTR is a popular option. I have linked a video review of this rack to the right for you.

If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wife's bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my son's bike at all. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
