Trouble Separating 2 Halves of Fulton Outboard Motor Lock
Question:
Please see below. The key turns fine in the lock, and the lock is very well lubricated, and I have always kept it that way. It turns well, without resistance, and seems as if the connection between the key and the locking pins has been lost. Is this possible? If so is there a remedy, or will the whole device have to be cut off. If this is so, how can I do this without damaging my motor? Thank you

I spoke with my contact at Fulton and if lubrication does not work to separate the two halves of the Fulton outboard motor lock, # FOML0127, then you have a couple of options.
If this does not work then there could be something broken in the lock mechanism and a locksmith might be able to get it unlocked. Otherwise the lock would have to be drilled out.
It is possible that something inside the lock has broken and will no longer allow the lock to unlock (or lock).
