Will Curt Hitch # 13354 Allow a 2012 Acura MDX to Keep the Full Sized Spare
Question:
- I called you help # and was told that the Curt #13354 hitch will fit an Acura 2012 MDX with full size spare. However, I have read a number of reviews saying that you can NOT reinstall the full size spare after mounting this hitch. Look at the recent review from another site, below: By safaririder - See all my reviews Verified PurchaseWhats this? This review is from: Curt Manufacturing 13354 Class III Receiver Automotive After doing my homework and reading reviews and even going to the trouble to call Curt directly I was informed by Curt that this hitch #13354 would fit my 09 Acura MDX and I would be able to hang the full size wheel/tire underneath in event of a flat. After installing which went much better than some of the reviews indicated.... I pulled one of my original wheel/tires to try to hang it underneath and it will NOT EVEN COME CLOSE TO FITTING. In fact the CURT hitch even interferes with the temp spare going into place. The temp will fit, but it doesnt allow it to slide all the way up in place so it tends to wobble a bit unless you over tighten the cable hangar. So in review... Yes they have a heavy duty, nicely painted product that if you are mechanically minded you can install yourself reasonably with an extra pair of hands, but quite poorly engineered piece of work and sadly enough even their own reps dont yet know this model wont allow you to hang a full size tire underneath! - Can you let me know with certainty that this hitch wil work with my 2012 MDX with full size spare? Thank you!

Actually we have SEVERAL customer reviews on the Curt Hitch part # 13354 from our customers who have said they were able to reinstall the factory full-sized spare after they installed the hitch.
I am not sure what the guy you referenced was doing wrong, but if there actually was an issue with fitting the spare back on an MDX like your 2012 we would know about it by know and Curt would have changed the fit notes.
Check out the product reviews on the product page for the # 13354 and you will see several mentions of people who were able to reinstall their spare after the hitch install. It might be easier to find these reviews if you hold down the "CTRL" button and press the "F" button and then search for the word "spare."
