Components Needed To Build A Utility Trailer
Question:
I want to build an approximately 4foot x 8foot trailer with sides about 30inch tall to carry my carpentry tools. I have access to a welding shop. Can someone help me determine which parts Id need from your company? Weight of tools would be less than 1,000 pounds. Id like 13inch or 14inch tires.

Building a trailer can be pretty involved. You need to consider the materials you want to use and the weight capacity of the trailer when you build it.
You said you have access to a welding shop. You will need to design the trailer frame and decide what kind of tongue you plan on using. We do have several of the components you can use.
For a suspension system I recommend using an axle-less idler hub system like part # A20RS545. This system has a 2,000 lb weight capacity and includes the 5 on 4-1/2 hubs along with all the bearings, races, and seals needed. This is an EZ-Lube system which means you do not have to remove the wheels when you want to add grease to the bearings.
The wheel/tire combo I recommend for your trailer is part # AM31985. This 13 inch wheel has a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern and has an 8 ply radial tire. the tire has a 1,610 maximum load rating at 65 psi.
For lighting on the trailer I recommend part # A35W42B. This will give you a 4-way connector at the front of your trailer.
For tail lights I recommend part # STL78RB. These are LED waterproof lights and has the stop, turn, and tail light functions. This light measures 7-9/16 inches long x 3-5/16 inches wide x 3/4 inch deep.
I also recommend side reflectors like part # RE10AB. These are amber in color and measure 3-3/16 inches long x 1-7/16 inches wide.
If you want to let me know what type tongue you plan on installing on your trailer I can make some coupler recommendations.
Also, if your vehicle is not wired for a trailer, let me know the year make and model of the vehicle and I can help with that as well.
