Question:

I have a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I am adding a Reese RP66083 WD hitch. My receiver height on the jeep is 14.5inch the hitch height on the trailer is 21. Can you advise on the shank I need?

Expert Reply:

The shank that comes with the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System # RP66083 that you referenced can do up to 6-1/2 inches of rise. Since you only need 5-1/2 inches of rise the included shank should work well for you. Typically we recommend you install the head of the WD system about an inch taller than what would put the trailer at level.

I included an FAQ on picking the correct rise/drop ball mount plus a review video on this WD system for you to check out.
