Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Question:

I have a Hopkins converter installed on my 2009 grand Cherokee, I have somehow shorted it out for the second time in a year, what do the t- one connectors draw power from how come I was steered to a converter versus these, should I try these? Im tired of spending $60 on a converter that last 6 months, thanks!

I don't even show a listing for a wiring harness with a converter for your 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee. A converter is used when the vehicle has the turn signals and brake lights on separate circuits. It combines the signals because that is what a trailer uses. Some vehicles do not need a converter or a converter is recommended because of the sensitive wiring on the vehicle.

Some converters are powered and draw power for the trailer lights directly from the vehicle battery. Others do not and get all their power from the vehicle tail light wiring.

All you need is either # 118425 or # C56009. No converter is needed. I have included some helpful links to the right for you.
