Thank you for providing a picture that is similar to what you have!

The first thing you will want measure is the diameter of your current tire and wheel combo. The most common tire sizes will have three parts, for example 205/75-R15. This number will tell you three things about the tire and wheel combination that you are trying to fit. The number 205 represents the section width of the tire, in millimeters. The number 75 refers to the sidewall aspect ratio. The last number, 15 in our example, represents the diameter, in inches, of the wheel on which the tire is mounted.

Based on the example above you can calculate the diameter then radius of the tire and determine if your tire will work with the carrier # TR-1. For example: 205/75-R15 tire and wheel sidewall on the tire is 6.053 inches x 2 = 12.106 inches. Add the combined section heights of the tire 12.106 inches to the wheel size to get the combined diameter of the tire and wheel. In this example it's 15-inches + 12.106 inches = 27.106 inches. That is the total diameter. See picture to the right.

You can also obtain the tire size diameter by viewing our FAQ on trailer tire sizing. It will provide many examples including diameter size.

The part # TR-1 measures 9-1/2 inches. You will then compare to your current wheel and tire radius to the 9-1/2 inch spare tire holder. See picture to the right.

I have included FAQ and installation video for you as well.
