Replacement 4-Way Wiring Harness Recommendation for a 2005 Acura MDX
Question:
I need to replace the Flat 5 trailer wiring harness on my 2005 Acura MDX. What I have now has corroded and is unusable. I tried to replace the connector myself with an of the shelf Flat 5 from a Big Box store but it doesnt work. There is no power between ground white and any of the other connectors. The Acru shop manual doesnt show a fuse for the trailer circuit so I think I need to start over from the factory connector but all I could find is your Flat 4 kit, I need a Flat 5. What d I need?

What I would recommend you do is start with the Tow Ready 4-Way harness part # 118336, cut the 4-way off of the harness and then wire the aftermarket 5-way you purchased to it in it's place.
For the fifth circuit of the 5-way you would need to run that to your reverse light circuit or to whatever circuit you need.
I attached an install video for this harness to the right plus an FAQ on troubleshooting 4-way installs for you to check out as well.
