Recommendation for Transporting 2 Bicycles with a 2015 Volkswagen GTI
Question:
I just purchased a 2015 VW GTI and I am looking for a way to transport a couple bicycles. I think my best option is a hitch mounted bike carrier. Is there a trailer hitch that fits the 2015 GTI? Thanks

Yes, we do offer the Curt Class I Trailer Hitch Receiver, # C11412, for your 2015 Volkswagen GTI. This hitch is designed specifically for your vehicle and no welding or drilling is required for installation.
When it comes to a hitch mounted bike rack, one of my favorites is the Thule Hitch Post Pro, # TH934XTR. This bike rack is lightweight, has anti-sway cradles that cushion your bikes, and a built-in anti-rattle hitch pin for tool-free installation.
Another option for carrying bikes on your GTI would be to use a trunk mounted bike rack like the Thule Raceway PRO 2 Bike Rack, # TH9001PRO. The Raceway is one of my favorites because it looks great and is very easy to use. This rack uses sure-tight retractable cables with hooks to anchor the bike rack to your hatch at 4 points for stability. Just turn the oversized ratcheting knobs to secure this to the back of your GTI.
I am also attaching a link to the other hitch mounted and trunk mounted bike racks that are available for your vehicle.
If you plan on carrying women's, children's or alternative framed bikes, you may find it easier to secure the bikes by using an adapter bar like the Swagman Easy-Out, # 64005. This bar attaches between the seat post and the handlebar stem on your bike to give you a horizontal surface to secure to.
