Cargo Basket Recommendation For 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited With Panoramic Roof

Question:

Your expert advice needed. I have factory crossbars 4Z021-ADU01 mounted on my factory flush mount rails in the pre-designated holes which are set approximately 43 inches apart. I want to mount a cargo basket to the existing bars. I am looking at the Rhino RMCB01 as I love the sleek look of the basket. I am not sure if that basket will mount on my existing bars. I have seen various notes as to bar widthinch requirements. Thanks in advance.

There are a couple of measurements you can take on your 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe.

First, you will want to measure the crossbars themselves to make sure any basket you select will fit the style and size you have.

The next important measurement is the distance center-to-center. You said your crossbars measured 43 inches, so that will be the measurement I use when making a recommendation.

Unfortunately, the Rhino Rack Cargo Carrier, part # RMCB, you referenced, will fit on roofs that have a maximum of 30 inches.

If your crossbars measure 3-1/2 inches wide by 1-1/4 inch tall maximum on your Santa Fe, then I recommend part # RMCB02. This cargo basket by Rhine Rack measures 57 inches Long by 42 inches wide, and has a weight capacity of 165 lbs. This basket also comes with a custom fairing which mounts to the front of the basket, reducing drag and wind noise. It will fit crossbars with a spread between 25 and 44 inches. I have attached a product review video for this basket you can check out.

To reach the items in the cargo rack on the top of your Santa Fe, I recommend using a tire step like part # HE4040. This slips over the tire of your vehicle and has a weight capacity of 400 lbs. It folds flat for easy storage.

If you are looking for a cargo bag to place in your carrier, I recommend the Rhino-Rack Rooftop Cargo Carrier Bag, part # RRLBH. This heavy-duty bag is weather-resistant and measures 55 inches long x 20 inches wide x 12 inches tall. This bag can be locked with a padlock to keep your items in the bag secure.

The lock I recommend is part # 141T. This comes with 2 padlocks in the package.

You will want to check your owner's manual or with your dealership to make sure you do not exceed the roof weight capacity of your Santa Fe.
