The Best Bolt-On Swivel Trailer Jack for a Boat Trailer
Question:
Fulton Trailer Jack FXP15LThis jack is described as a bolt-thru jack. It also comes with a mounting bracket. What does bolt-thru mean in this context? Do the mounting bolts actually pass through the frame like mounting a coupler? Or do the mounting bolts sit on top of and below the frame like a spare tire carrier? Also what is a snap ring jack, and how does that differ?I am looking for a bolt-on heavy duty marine jack for a trailer tounge that is 4 inches tall by 3 inches wide.

Think of bolt-through as bolt-on without drilling any holes in the trailer frame. Bolt-around might be a better way to describe how the Fulton trailer jack # FXP15L attaches to the trailer frame.
Snap ring jacks like # PSEJ10000101 as an example have a snap ring, see picture, that holds the jack to a mounting bracket. The Fulton jack is attached to the mounting bracket via a bolt in the center.
For a marine swivel jack with a wheel a Fulton F2 jack, such as # F1413140334, would offer the best corrosion resistance in a marine environment. I have included some links to helpful videos to the right.
