Using the Included Circuit Tester to Install ETBC7 on a 2008 Chrysler Town and Country

Question:

I have part ETBE7 and am trying to use the circuit tester included in the kit, but not having much luck. Do I need to pierce the wires to test them, or just hold then pointed end on them? I connected the clip end to a metal body element, does that need to be clipped on something else? The vehicle i am installing my brake controler on is a 2008 Town and Country. Thanks!

You will have to make contact with the copper strands inside the wires using the pointy end of the included circuit tester. Also, make sure the tester is grounded to a clean and corrosion free bare metal surface when testing.

You may find that a different ground location will work better. It is sort of a trial and error process. If you are adding a brake controller and are testing for the correct brake switch wire to attach to the red brake controller wire then on your Chrysler T&C it should be a green wire.

I have included a couple of links to the right that should help.
