Does a 7-Way 12 Volt Power Circuit Need to Run to Vehicle Battery

Does the black wire have to go to the battery or can it go to any 12 volt source in the rear of the highlander.

You do really need to run the black wire of the 7-way you plan on installing on your 2015 Toyota Highlander all the way to your vehicle battery through a 40 amp breaker like part # PK54540. If you were to run the wire to a 12 volt circuit on your vehicle you would run the risk of overdrawing that circuit and blowing fuses or damaging that circuit when you install the RF Brake Controller part # TK94FR.
