Have all ready camera need to change camera only can I use different camera same hardware

The Hopkins Smart Hitch Backup Camera System # HM50002 is intended for use as a complete system. The wiring harness and monitor portions of the system use connectors that are intended to mate with those on the license-plate camera unit. Also, the resolution of the monitor unit is specific to the output of the Hopkins camera. Another brand/type of camera might operate but it is unlikely that it would provide the correct image resolution for compatibility with the rest of the system.

My contact at Hopkins confirmed that they do not offer just the camera portion of this system as a separate replacement part. It is only available as part of the complete system. The Hopkins Smart Hitch is shown in the linked review video.
