How to Set Up a Blue Ox Weight Distribution System for an Unloaded and Loaded Trailer
Question:
Ill be towing an Outback 230RS 7550 GTW, 600 dry TW with my 07 Tundra. The trailer has a cargo area midway between the axle and the hitch so the TW could be as high as 1000# when loaded with toys. The BXW1000 may be a good choice but would the 1000# bars be too heavy when the trailer is empty. Would I need another set of lighter bars?

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow, this figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached an FAQ on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well.
The Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution # BXW1000 that you referenced has a tongue weight range of 750-1,000 lbs so it would be ideal for your setup. However, if you plan to use the system on your trailer while it's loaded and unloaded you will have to set it up for both setups. This will prevent you from having to use two different spring bars.
Since the spring tension for this system is adjusted by using different amounts of chain links you could pretty easily figure out how to easily setup the system for both setups. You would just want to set it up once with the trailer empty, remember how many chain links you used. Then set it up again full loaded and remember how many links were used as well.
