Electric-Over-Hydraulic Adapter Recommendation For 2013 GMC 2500 With Factory Brake Controller

I have a Titan electric / hydraulic brake system on my new boat trailer. Is there an adaptor available for the 2013 GMC 2500 factory built in trailer brake system to communicate with the Titan system

I recommend the Titan BrakeRite SD Adapter for Ford/Chevy Integral Brake Controllers
Item # T4845900. It is designed for use with a trailer that has a Titan BrakeRite I Plug and Play Electric-Hydraulic Actuator Kit. If you have a BrakeRite electric-over-hydraulic EHB actuating system on your trailer, the adapter will allow the BrakeRite system to properly communicate with your 2013 GMC 2500 factory brake controller.

Some Ford and Chevrolet vehicles with factory brake controllers had a setting for electric-over-hydraulic brakes. If your vehicle does not have this setting and the trailer has a Titan BrakeRite EHB actuator # T4813102, then the EHB adapter # T4845900 will work for your application.

If your trailer does not have the Titan BrakeRite EHB actuator, but you have another manufacturer's electric-over-hydraulic system on your trailer you will need to use an aftermarket brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, part # 90885, to control the trailer brakes. The P2 has a setting for either electric or electric over hydraulic brakes. The installation instructions on the Prodigy P2 brake controller are included.

When you replace the factory brake controller with an aftermarket brake controller it will give set off an error code on your dash. You will have to go to the GMC dealer and have the vehicles computer flashed to remove the error code. Once the computer is flashed to recognize the new brake controller, you should be able to use the P2 with no problem.

I have attached a link to a helpful article that explains brake controllers you can check out.
