7-Way Adapter Recommendation for a 2004 Ford Expedition Towing Surge Brake Trailer with Lockout

Question:

My 2004 Ford Expedition now has only a 4 pole trailer wiring connector. What equipment do I need to add a 7 pole connector which will send a signal to deactivate trailer hudraulic brakes when backing up. Can you provide installation instructions?

All you need is the 4-way to 7-way adapter part # 37185. Now to activate your reverse light solenoid you have on your trailer with surge brakes all you will need to do is connect the purple wire of this harness to the reverse light circuit of your 2004 Ford Expedition.

To find the right wire you will want to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the wires of the reverse light harness. Once you find the circuit that has current when the reverse lights get turned on you will attach the purple wire of the # 37185 to it.
