Uneven Tire Wear on a Single Tire on Tandem Axle Trailer
Question:
I have an enclosed trailer with 2 3000lbs axles. The passenger side front axle tire Is wearing on each edge but not on the centre. The other tires are fine. What would cause this?

There's numerous possible causes, but an underinflated tire would be the most common. A trailer tire should be kept inflated to the maximum pressure that's listed on the tire sidewall. If it were a bent axle or an overloaded trailer, the excessive wear wouldn't be on both edges of the tire. If the tire is properly inflated, make sure that the suspension is in good repair, with nothing worn or damaged.
A faulty tire would also a possible cause. It would explain why only one tire is experiencing unusual wear.
