Activating 12 Volt Circuit on 7-Way Trailer Connector on a 2006 GMC Yukon XL Denali
Question:
I have a 2006 Yukon XL Denali, it has the factory 7 pin trailer plug. I want to power lights inside of a camper from the vehicle. At the plug there is not power to the positive blade in plug. All I can find on line is how to hook up an 2007 model, with the wire under the hood. Any help would be great.

It sounds like the tow package is not fully functional on your 2006 GMC Yukon XL Denali which is not uncommon on GM trucks and SUVs. The situation is likely similar to that of a GMC Sierra. I have included a link to the right that explains the connections that you will need to make to make it fully functional.
It is possible you just need a fuse in the proper location. But it is also possible that you will need to manually run a wire from the back of the 7-Way to the vehicle battery via a 40 amp circuit breaker, # PK54540. For wire you can use # 12-1-1 sold in lengths of 1 foot. So if you wanted a 20 foot long strand you would change the quantity to 20 prior to adding it to the cart.
