Will Ranch Hitch Adapter AM3100 Work on 5th-Wheel Trailer
Question:
I would like to buy the anderson ranch hitch. A lot of people I know have this. I measured my pin box and it is 36. Will this ranch hitch work for that? Thanks

The fifth-wheel to gooseneck adapter # AM3100 is designed for the industry standard 2 inch king pin. To see if it is a fit, you will want to take some measurements on your 5th wheel trailer.
1. Pull the truck into position as if you were hooking up to the trailer, making sure that the truck and trailer are level.
2. Measure from the pin box to the top of the ball in the bed of your truck.
3. The measurement should fall between 11-3/4 inches and 14-3/4, which are the retracted and extended lengths for the adapter, respectively.
If the trailer has an extended pin box on it, you will also need to measure the length, as the # AM3100 adapter will only work with extended pin boxes up to 24 inches long.
The Ranch Hitch adapter is designed for trailers with a standard or extended pin box up to 24 inches long (measured diagonally). To find this dimension, you should measure from the centerline of the bottom of the king pin into the back of the pin box as far as you can reach. You may not be able to reach the very back of the pin box itself because the top of it may extend into the trailer. In this case, measure to where the pin box disappears into the trailer. I am including a picture showing the required measurement for extended pin boxes for a reference.
The safety chains for the # AM3100 adapter would be part # AM3109. We also offer a slide hammer, part # AM3103, which makes the installation much easier if it is something you plan to do yourself.
