Speed Rating for Trailer Tires  

Question:

I want a tire rated at a speed closer to 70 MPH rather than 65. I have a Montana 5W CURRENTLY WITH GOODYEAR MARATHONS

Unless otherwise stated all trailer tires are rated at only 65 miles per hour. I know there are a few manufacturers out there with trailer tires that are rated for more than 65 miles per hour, but we do not carry any of them.

If you exceed 65 mph, heat could build up in the tire and cause it to break down and fail. If a tire is rated to run at a higher speed, this information should be listed on the tire's sidewall.
