Landing Gear Motor that Looks Like Stromberg Carlson Only Travels One Direction
Question:
5th Wheel R V Trailer: 1994 Jayco, 3050 RK. Landing Gear only raises trailer, wont lower it. The Landing Gear is origonal. The motor looks just like the Stromberg-Carlson that you sell. I would also like to replace the direction switch on the motor. There are no markings on the motor, Im just going by the shape. Are the directions clear on how to install the motor and switch? Should I consider replacing the complete Landing Gear? Thanks,

Helpful Expert Reply:
If you had the Stromberg Carlson Landing Gear part # LG-1 the correct switch would be the part # LG-145236. This would wire in pretty easily and would be self-explanatory once you got into the install.
For a motor and a switch you would want the part # LG-217884.
If you can operate the jack manually up and down but not with the switch then the problem is either the switch or the motor. Most likely the switch.
If you don't have the # LG-1 and can't determine what brand gear you have the only real solution I could provide would be to replace the entire thing with a part # LG-1.
