No Power to Trailer Wiring Harness on a 2013 Subaru Outback
Question:
Just installed item#118467 into my 13 Outback to go with the Hidden Hitch I just installed. My test light doesnt light up on the wiring harness. I know that the test light works, how do I determine if the issue is the harness or the wiring of the vehicle? At the moment I dont suspect the vehicle year old, original owner.

The first thing you will want to check is the in line fuse on trailer wiring harness # 118467. If it is blown or missing that could be the root of the problem.
Installing this harness can be a little tricky if the vehicle has factory backup sensors. Make sure you are plugging it in at the correct locations. I have included a picture that should help.
To test the harness you will use your test light and test the wires going into the converter from the vehicle. If there is no power going into the converter and the fuse is installed and not blown then it is an issue with your 2013 Subaru Outback. I would check the vehicle owners manual to determine if there is another tow package fuse or relay somewhere that is missing or blown.
If there is power going into the converter box from the vehicle but no power coming out then there is an internal problem with the converter and it will need to be replaced.
