Best Trunk Mount Bike Rack for a 2013 Lexus IS 250

Question:

What is the best trunk mount bike rack for a 2013 IS 250 that is one of the easiest to put on and take off. Ill most likely only put the rack on when I go biking. I have a womens Specialized Myka Disc SE 29. Thanks in advance.

As long as your 2013 Lexus IS 250 is not a convertible then the best trunk mount bike rack option is going to be the Thule OutWay # TH45JV for 2 bikes or # TH56BV for 3 bikes.

I own an older version of this rack and it is by far the easiest rack to mount that I have used. It has only 2 rubber coated straps rather than 6 straps like other bike racks. Only 2 attachment points to worry about making it easy to install and remove.

If you do have a convertible then the best rack is going to be the Hollywood Baja 2 # HRB2 for 2 bikes. This rack does use 6 straps to attach but it is a very versatile rack.

If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wife's bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my son's bike at all. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
