To install the Draw-Tite 4-Pole Hardwire Kit Including Circuit Tester, part # 18252, on your 2008 Ford F-150 you will need to access the wiring harness behind each tail light assembly, starting at the drivers side. Activate the left turn signal, and use the tester included in the kit to probe each wire going into the tail light assembly. Once you find the wire that makes the tester blink with the turn signal, tap the yellow wire for the 4-pole wiring harness into that circuit using the quick splice included in the kit. The white wire would ground to the vehicle, the brown wire would tap into the running light circuit. You would activate the headlights, and test the wires until you find the one with power. On the passenger side activate the right turn signal, and tap the green wire into the wire that makes the tester blink.
Once all of your connections have been made, I recommend using a mounting bracket, like Tow Ready Mounting Bracket, part # 18144 to keep your trailer connector in place.
I am including a video link that will show the 4-Pole hardware kit being installed on a Ford Taurus. The vehicle is different, but the installation would be the same.
